Derek Cooper knew something lol

I think Lyle is not 100% recovered from the ND injury

I don't think people realize how big an impact playing with injury can be. Many on CIS conveniently forget they wanted Mesidor to portal out because he was ineffective playing hurt.

Mark Walton with vs. without injuries was a totally different running back. One could hurdle defenders and make insane cuts, the other would go down on first contact. Who is to say Lyle can't have the same light switch when he's healthier?

Lyle and Lofton just looked wrong this season. Lofton seems to be finally getting back to pre-injury levels and showing it on the field. Maybe we give Lyle the same benefit of the doubt?

There’s hundreds of posts here calling Mesidor a jag and he needs to leave . @JHallCanes tell em

I do think making the playoffs helps with departures

some people that might be a "3rd back" may be more inclined to stay to be part of a winning culture while knowing that an injury can put them in a huge spotlight

in the past when we're not in the playoffs and no proven trajectory, what's the harm in leaving really

I kinda feel like Fletcher and Brown splitting snaps was overkill. Pringle brings totally different dimension to run game and he is a better match for change up for Fletcher imo. I’d like to see Brown stay and be insurance policy, but I get it if he goes back into the portal.
oh I agree, Pringle def adds a different element where Brown/Fletch kinda play the same role. I would also love to see brown stay. Like him as a player and he has had some grown man moments for us. UF was by far his best game, 18 carries 80 yards 2 tds and 4 catches for 55 yards, that was only 3 weeks after he went 15 for 70 + a TD against ND and added 2 catches for 17 yards, but after UF he seemingly fell outta favor.

I know Dawson was ****ed on that one 4th and short in the SMU game or maybe Lville where he danced and didnt hit the the LOS hard. but after UF:
FSU: 8 carries 19 yards no catches
Lville: 3 carries 9 cards 1 catch 5 yards
Stanford: 5 carries 9 yards, no catches
SMU: 9 carries 37 yards, no catches
SYR: 8 carries 39 yards, 5 catches 23 yards
NC State: 8 carries 45 yards 1 dt, 1 catch 3 yards
VT: 2 carries 9 yards, no catches
Pitt: 8 carries 16 yards, 1 catch 9 yards.

This also includes the stretch where Fletch was hurt, he missed the SYR and NC state games and was limited against VT.

Back to the point of the OP for a moment, if Cooper actually went there because he felt there was less competition, F him. That is NOT dawg mentality at all. You wanna see a dawg? He's right here, about to take a poor little Timmy for a 25 yard ride:

I've always liked Fletcher. However, I now love him (not like that, but close). To see him IMMEDIATELY console Baby Jesus and then tear the soul out of A&M's defense after he flipped from Ohio State to a 5-7 Canes team, stuck around for 3 years recruiting other guys (ahem Damien Martinez) who play his same position all in the name of love of the Canes is so damm special. Cooper can enjoy his time in s.hitkicker Texas playing for a lame duck mid coach. Fletcher can enjoy being a legend in his home town.

I think Lyle is as good as gone unless the free market isnt great to him which I doubt. Someone will take a flyer and his snaps are now going to Pringle. Pringle stays IMO. Brown may be out. No inside information but his snaps have oddly decreased at the end of the season. He goes from basically splitting reps with Fletch against a top 5 ND team game 1 to not even getting a carry in our last two games. IDK why he would stay at this point TBH. Also dont forget Mallory coming in, he may be the Brown replacement.
I can def see Lyle bouncing for more of a feature back type role. USF would seem like a logical scenario if he portals out since Hartline was his main recruiter before he flipped here.

Could be that the collective doesn't want to throw good money after bad. Sark is in no-man's land right now.
Think there was a lot of money invested that didnt yield results.

CJ Baxter and Jerrick Gibson didnt come cheap.

Baxter gave you 3.6ypc, Gibson at 4.1. Wisner 4.6.

These guys just arent that good and were expensive.

They have Cooper and are shopping in the premium transfer market at RB with Baugh (5.3ypc) and Cam Cook (5.6) - respectively the 16th and overall rushing leader at current.

Thats just the way Im seeing it.

Not for nothing but that RB class:

Many had Gibson, Riley, and Lyle as the top 3 options for us

None of them have made an impact

The poster who said JoJo was the next coming of Dre said Mesidor shouldn't be starting for us at the beginning of the year. I forgot his name but he made himself famous on here with his JoJo insider info or Not Info. LOL

LOFTON just needed to loose bad weight. He looked fat out there and started to look a little better toward the end of the year.
