2027 DERAILED: David "DJ" Jacobs 5* DE from Roswell, GA (Blessed Trinity Catholic) OG Thread 1.0

Reading between the lines here, I think we land him. We will not take no for an answer, will have the best offer and the parents want him here.

& If he's been here twice that wasn't reported on?
Yeah so he’s sneaking around but won’t be seen in public with us lol…. We’re like the girl that believes the dude is actually gunna get divorced and leave his wife…

We are getting closer and closer to where it’s time to **** or get off the pot with Jacob’s purely in terms of when we can realistically keep thinking we really have a shot with him. The longer it plays out without him flipping the less likely we get him. Will we keep recruiting and trying? Sure. With a guy of his talent it’s not worth giving up even during season. But likelihood goes down with time imo, especially when he missing scheduled visits

If I remember correctly Justin Scott didn’t publicly visit UN after he committed to Ohio State. We saw how that turned out.

Seems this is like one constant run on sentence with you brother... Maybe you just know better than anyone else. Ok kool. Don't think Mario has anything left to prove to y'all. No matter how many times I've tried to explain to y'all his mindset people like you and others keep trying to throw "your own expertise" into the equation like y'all are intimately involved inside the building. Just a heads-up for 99% of the people on here. If y'all ain't inside the building then take opinions are just like anyone else and their ********. It's an opinion and everyone got one. That's the only facts most relay on here. Let this kid live out his recruitment and y'all just be fans and see where it heads. If even after last season you still can't just sit back and enjoy football as a fan, than maybe that's just something innately inside y'all... #justsayin

I can enjoy the football season, think we have a great class (including by flipping bryant or even a different top edge like going after Whithead)), and still think the more this drags out the signficantly lower the chances of a flip become. lmao. Lets not try to act like I'm some mope lmao. And the more guys do things that take the staff by Surprise or don't go according to plan, the worse it means. It's mostly common sense... But yeah we all have opinions. Mine also had periods lol

Did he have an OV scheduled with the staff and then Miss it? Did he suprise announce somewhere else in the first place when everyone including his family thought we were going to be the pick? Did all that happen when NIL had already firmly been established and Flips were becoming less common over time?...

There are plenty of reasons to not think they are the same. The one that actually is a better comparison is Hayden Lowe.

Bro am not sure why people acting like you are dunking on Mario when its about the kid. And i feel the same way. This shyyt is like JJ all over. And of course they are not gonna give up and of course its possible he flips. But to me Ohio is where he wanted to go, if everyone was expecting him to pick Miami and a day before we play Ohio, he publicly gives them a huge boost. That shyyt rubs me wrong.

Dont care about no secret visits or non of that.

Got nothing to do with Mario's relentless approach to recruiting. He better than me cuz i woulda told some of these kids to kick rocks, even from previous classes.
That’s why he is the guy for the job.

Dont see Jacobs happening and i aint putting that on the staff or their effort. Same as with Matthews.

Btw am also pretty sure Jacobs has visited Ohio plenty of times since as well. If you wanna flip, you do it like Donte Wright and A'king Hall. And this is not like Justin Scott. Scott wanted to be at Miami and others wanted him elsewhere.

It's not a problem unique to us. It is what happens now period and trying to apply your version of previous recruiting rules doesn't apply to recruiting currently. That's not an issue thing. It's a nil thing. Not one single commit is locked in anywhere in this country until they're game number 1 & honestly speaking that don't mean **** either cause kids can still come or go as they please. So to think this dragging out as you call it says something is foolish. Especially considering we flip kids during the season or late routinely. I'm glad you have periods lol. For whatever reason made that amusing. Guess it was the run on sentence thing. Witty indeed. My fault for bothering to chime in. You guys are all absolutely right

There factually have been far less flipping during the season and leading up to NSD than there has been Pre-NIL (and during NIL but before all these guys were able to sign contracts DURING their HS season). Thats why I'm saying that combined with the visit and suprise committment thing. And that is especially true for the TOP guys. Sure it happens - Like I said I think flipping Lowe is a far better example than flipping Scott. Both happened in November, but a yr makes a big difference with all the NIL legislation changes that had been going on. Like last class we flipped more the later bloomers / big risers in the rankings, not the guys that entered the season as top 50-100 recruits really (Mueller & Dunnigan). Flipping Stancil from Clemson is probably the most similar example? But that was from Clemson who probably isn't the most proactive with NIL deals before they sign? And obviously fell off 10x harder than Ohio state has or willl, and while he was a great flip and I'd consider a whale flip, he wasn't actually ranked as a top 100 guy even... Far different from the NIL impact Jacobs flip would carry...

Cut the crap.

Between you and @Brooklyndee ...the entire board knows whose posts to trust...

And all the rebuttals in the world won't change that fact.

Get his **** out your mouth man lol
Yeah we all know he knows what he's talking about. And We all want Jacobs to be a Cane.

Its also a fact we've seen these type of recruitments before where there have been several bad signs along the process. Hopefully we win it of course. But It is also a FACT that the longer it takes to flip a 5star player, the less likely it happens with the way NIL is now. especially once you actually enter the football season. Its also not like he's committed to some *** team with no money. Get real man. We aren't the leader in his recruitment, so anyone acting like there is some >50% chance we land him is trippin (and I'm not saying D is saying that). Pointing out CLEAR AS DAY bad signs like missing his OV, is a very reasonable thing to say.
