Looks like the services just about nailed the offense minus Morris & Dorsett - and to be fair I'm not sure anyone pegged Morris as a 4 star type guy back then. Defense is still TBD - I think/hope Porter, Crawford, Gunter, Pierre & Figueroa prove to have been underrated... Perryman was a doofus-miss on services part.

I've heard Morris himself say that he couldn't remember Randy ever speaking to him until he was the team's starter. Morris being a Miami Hurricane was all Whipple to the 100th power.

Not true. Some of you have terrible memories. Morris was Whipples #1 the entire way. Other people were ****ed that we weren't going after a bigger name but Morris was the one for Whipple.

My point was we slow played Morris in favor of others as a staff. Whether Morris was his first choice is irrelevant because he wasn't offered until after we lost Blake Bell, Andrew Hendrix and Dallas Lloyd. There was another kid but I don't remember his name. Again, that shows the incompetence of that staff when the OC and QB coach in is love with one guy but the HC has him out looking at other kids. Usually your number 1 choice isn't slow played the way Morris was.

So basically, every 4 and 5 star we have recruited before this year is starting for us?

Kind of hard for this breakdown to mean anything for us given the recruiting environment of late (Golden had a few weeks to put together a class and then was recruiting against sanctions). A more interesting list would be a breakdown of kids on the team not starting for us by star rating. I suspect it would be very few 4 and 5 stars.

So looked it up, I don't see any 4 or 5 stars on the team currently who are not in the two deep and the guys who aren't starting are certainly productive. Most of the other guys who moved on could have been good players or are in the NFL. There are a few busts (Jalen Grimble), and a lot of guys who didn't make it to school. If you are looking for an indictment of the ratings system, however, this is not the place to look. In fact, it bears it out quite well.
