Correct. Only DTs listed at north of 299 on the roster are Ahmad Moten (300 exactly) and Justin Scott (303). Next highest is Jarquez Carter @ 288 & Stancil @ 285.

247 had him at 273. But of course these guys are gonna gain weight. Which is what they want it seems. Put weight on a athletic guy, see how heavy he can get and retain that athleticism.

He’s relentless and looks like he can add weight to his frame. Plays a little high but the traits are there for sure. Heatherman values his DTs to be disrupters in the backfield and this kid has that

Im not sure they really after the big 320 pound players. They are really not 2 gapping. Its one gap and get up field. And the back 7 fill. It seems they rather get the guys with natural athleticism then add weight and see how much they can carry.

Yea I don’t think it’s about weight. I think it’s more about an athletic profile they look for in their DTs. It’s kind of been that way since mario has been here. Moten and Scott were the only naturally big 300+ guys he has brought in out of hs and both of those guys are athletic

Yeah i just checked his stats and he finished w/ 31 solo tackles, 17 assisted, 17 TFL, 7 sacks, and ten hurries last year. Hudl says 4.95 40 and 4.35 shuttle.

His maxpreps page says he is 6’3 290 which is 25 pounds more than 247. Just watched some of his highlights and like you said he looks like a beast. Team went 11-1.

If that 4.35 shuttle is anywhere near correct that's insane.

A lot of 17 years old will put on weight by the time they're 19 or 20. If a kid comes in at 270 there's a real chance he's 300 within a couple years. Obviously this is not a universal rule as some kids will have a hard time putting on weight.

I totally get going after athletic 265 guys and hoping they get bigger w/o losing speed and agility. Of course if you can get a guy that's 320 and moves well you take him (eg Brewster, Big Vince). But not a ton of those guys out there.
