Deion to Nebraska??

Completely agree. A bad fit for both sides. GT is almost the perfect place if the Auburn level jobs don't actually seriously consider him yet. They have very low expectations and he could instantly recruit there and change the image of their program. I think it'd also pretty quickly show if he can legit coach or not in the mighty Corstal.

If true, seems like a bad fit for Deion but a good fit for Nebraska. While I know little about Deion's coaching chops, IMO, Nebraska has suffered from a "coolness" factor. It's Nebraska after all. Deion instantly changes that. Maybe he can convince kids to go there.
 
He was able to get a few big recruits to come to a hbcu so I’m sure he can get guys to Nebraska if he really is getting that job
 
Deion needs to stay in his lane for a minute. Figure some more HC stuff out that will be pertinent for these big time programs. I know Nebraska has sucked, but not sure Deion is ready yet. Perhaps I'm wrong 🤷🏾‍♂️

Couldn't disagree more..

In coaching, you only have so long being the 'flavor or the week'. He's 8-0 and has recruited with the big boys of CFB. What more does he have to prove? He can recruit and win!

GT is a legit academic school with high academic standards for the athletes. You think Deion wants to be handcuffed by who he is allowed to recruit? It would not be a good fit at all. If money isn't a motivator, I'd suggest he go to a good G5 like a U of Cincinnati type school (or like Boise St was for many years) . With an expanded playoff, a good G5 will get plenty of consideration for a playoff spot, and it won't be hard to maintain a program that dominates the conference. He could be coach for life and not have to deal with the constant abuse by fans with unrealistic expectations, like Mario gets from an unappreciative UM fanbase.

Unless he's purposefully not trying to coach ever again, this isn't how the coaching fraternity gets down.

Charismatic guy who can obviously sell ice to Eskimos. They either get some X and O genius who I think would still have a hard time getting guys there or Neon Deion. I think he'd get kids there, better than all but a few huge names.

Wherever he ends up one day, it'll take off or blow up in glorious fashion. Nebraska is certainly a hard sell and the state doesn't produce a ton of talent.

Frost convinced a bunch of south Florida kids to go there. The problem was keeping them there to actually play football.
 
Hopefully FSU see the great job he's doing and intervene.

You're living in a bygone era where those "academic standards" aren't malleable when the allure of being relevant in big time college football and that big time cash is an option. Not to mention that those academic standards at certain schools were often made to be wayyyy more rigid than they actually were even in said bygone era.

I don't necessarily disagree with your G5 assertion as I think @RozayCane mentioning USF would be a great option too. I was just initially looking at a tier below the Auburn type opening but a tier above a G5 opening and that's where you'd find GT- which I still assert would be a great fit.

My understanding is that at GT the admissions standards are waiverable because graduation rates are high. However, all students, even the athletes, HAVE to take at least two calculus classes to graduate. Even the underwater basket weaving majors have to take the calculus courses to graduate. So getting in might not be as challenging, but graduating isn't nearly as easy. That could scare off a lot of recruits.
