Defensive target Sherwood with a huge spring game

Freak of nature. Guy was killing people out there.

This is the type of athlete you take and figure out what to do with later.

Alex Figueroa?

no, pete. Another versatile safety from UM that played both sides of the ball in H.S.

Figs was a true LBer. They can say what they want for recruiting purposes, but this kid is a big safety all the way.

If he comes to Miami it won't be as a safety

We got a really nice haul of safety commitments for 2018 and I would sell the "hybrid LBer" thing as well, but this kid has elite safety written all over him and only above average LBer talent IMO.

He's playing WR, RB, S, CB, LBer, and PR, but primarily plays safety and may be the best football player i've ever seen on HUDL. Watch that PR a 52s. He's way too talented to add a bunch of weight for him to only play at 2 levels. This kid is a 3-level game-changing talent at safety.

Kid is a LB all day. Will play LB in the NFL for sure. Should probably get started on that in college.

You'd have said the same thing about ST26 and been wrong.. Hope he comes and we'll get to see.

Comparing people to taylor is a tough proposition. What was so unique about him was his hips. A guy that big with not just his speed but fluidity is extraordinarily rare. Add his ball instincts and a love for hitting, and you get the goat.

Agreed man Sean Taylor played that Safety position like no one has ever played it. Im tired of people trying to compare recruits and players to him. All these Freesemenhole fans claiming that safety up there is his second coming disgust me. I hate Satan but i hope he runs that guy out of town with Jeudy and Ridley. Sean Taylor is the GOAT! End of story! If you could retire a name I'd nominate his. GO CANES!!!!!

Kid plays all over the field and he also competes in track - 100m/200m/relays. Shows me that the kid is a well rounded athlete and loves to compete.

Why do you just assume that he would have said the same about Sean Taylor? You're on a strange vendetta right now. Pete has confirmed the coaches are recruiting him as a LB.

It makes so much sense to have him come in and play SAM LB with versatility to remain in on some potential passing downs rather than need to bring in a nickel

watch this kid's junior highlights and respond again. I'll stand by what I said before; he's the most versatile athlete i've ever seen a high-school film of, and he dominates competition the way ST26 did in college. Just saying the kid has a look about him.

No need to be dramatic, just stick to the subject. How are him and ST26 different physically and film-wise as juniors to make all the LB conversion folk project ST26 as a safety coming out of H.S.?

Why have him dominate 2 levels when he can play 3? Just saying i''ve seen better LB film from Ventrel Miller and Shaq, but I haven't seen better 3-level and overall talent.

Y'all so concerned about 3-levels acting like LBs don't ever drop back to cover. Lb is a more impactful position than safety.

Agree with Cali, especially as we see Diaz using safeties to split the field in half. This kid would have more impact across all 3 levels in the SAM/Nickle role that was planned for Grace than playing cover.

M-P I knew you were talking about Taylor immediately, because I see some similar traits. But that guy was literally the GOAT, I honestly think it's setting unrealistic expectations to make such a comparison.

Exactly. Lbers are arguably the most important position behind DT on defense. They key on run or pass. Safety come in run support to help but that not what they are there for. Lber is truly the only postion that roams the three zones. They arent going to be caught in 3 much unless they are like the aforementioned Grace.

not really. LBs on skill players in space aren't advantageous to the defense.

Depends on the linebacker thats covering. And to be quite honest you have a Db on that skill player anyways. The defense is allowed to substitute personnel so if they run 5 wrs on the field then you sub accordingly. Same as 4wr and a rb. Or anyrhing else.
