For years, we've made jokes about Miami's lack of defensive tackles. Those jokes need to be retired now. Based on what I've seen in camp, and barring major injuries, this has a chance to be one of the top groups in the entire country.

Richard McIntosh and Kendrick Norton are top-of-the-food-chain DTs with size, first step quickness and motors. McIntosh is more of an athletic pass rusher with his basketball background, and Norton is a wrecking ball with burst off the snap and powerful lower body. They will both play in the NFL.

Gerald Willis bulked up over the summer and has been terrorizing our second team OL. He's probably the team leader in TFLs due to his quickness, savvy and ability to get skinny in gaps. Anthony Moten and Courtel Jenkins are behind those three, but they would have been better than virtually all of our starting DT duos since the early 2000s. Both guys are 315+ with good first steps.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but Coach Kool's track record suggests that he will produce an elite unit. He has the physical talent to work with. And the beauty of this group is that, because they go five deep, he can demand an extreme level of effort. I cannot wait to see what these guys can do.

Now that we have a proper Dline coach and a old Miami concept of defense, these DTs are going to terrorize people like our old guys. With that will come head hunting DEs. Golden would have had these guys looking like milk cows and practicing dance steps. FSU has no memory of our old defense and no way to understand what is awaiting them. We had a QB and the DTs again!!!! Everything flows from that and we have shot this year.

God I hope you're right, but I'm finding it difficult to believe they'll be that good. If they are, I'm gonna punch al in his p*^^y.

I enjoyed watching the d-line work at the end. Looked like Courtel Jenkins had a good rep there.

All of these dudes looked promising under golden...Total flip from the past considering...not only are they playing in a scheme that allows them to show their strengths, they are being coached by a whisperer. Can't wait to be DLU again.

I saw mcintosh up close and personal last year and his frame really jumped out at me. There's nobody on that DL with his frame and he's a perfect build for a 4-3 DT alongside Norton. I always maintained that the 4-3 DTs are the most important positions on the field and I'm very confident with our group

yeah, i saw him at hott leggs in fort lauderdale, he carries the weight well

In terms of first step and athleticism, do you think Fines and Martin have a future here?

Fines is not a pushover but I think he can help us a lot more at OL. Martin moves pretty good just needs to get much bigger and stronger.
