Pretty surprised to see this. And we are 11th in the country in sacks per game. But when the opponent does get the ball off, they complete it for massive gains. Currently 118th in the country in yards per pass attempt allowed. Still, I thought this was pretty encouraging going forward.

This is important but it highlights that the issue is on the back 7 because it’s not as though the back 7 have to cover for an extraordinary amount of time. Apparently they aren’t covering well for a very short period of time. We really lack talent at CB and I think our safeties are trying to do too much to make up for that which results in big plays for the bad guys.

The MTSU game has to have made those numbers jump significantly. Busted coverages are a major problem and we saw it again vs UNC

Having a full 7 guys in coverage against an under pressure QB should a nightmare to complete passes against. No excuse, even group of 5 secondaries should be able to hold up under those conditions.

we had the busted coverage versus UNC but it did seem like the secondary played one of their best games, especially in the second half

I know the QB probably got a little gunshy throwing picks back to back basically but they seemed to play well (haven’t rewatched)

Had trouble with Downs, but everyone does

The secondary was suspect before Addae arrived.
Stevenson and JW had interceptions against Kenny Pickett but neither of them has sniffed one this year unless I'm not remembering. Frierson, Blades, Avantae don't have a role while we rank near dead last in yards allowed through the air. If Evan Stewart played A&M would have lit us up. Addae stinks and I don't like him.

Right, but how did they do all last season? All I'm saying the secondary wasn't dominant last due various reasons. I didn't expect Addae to flip the switch in year 1.

If we had got those OSU Db's and Oregon NT through the portal, we would be a having different discussion.

So what did Miami do last week? Dropped Harvey into coverage instead of rushing the passer. smh
