Defensive Line

Yeah everyone keeps talking about the DT's played average etc

UF ran for 52 yards total, DT's played **** good. Biggest disappointment last night from that side of the ball was the lack of consistent edge pressure and it isn't even close.

With the way our secondary performed, I'll gladly take a d-line that can stop the run like they did. We know the TFL and sacks will come.

We did a good job stopping the run, but where was the pressure? Our DE’s are supposed to be a strength and we were going up against what we thought was a poor Gaytor o line.

We were having this same conversation last year vs LSU. It becoming clear our DL doesn't get enough pressure against big boy teams. No pass rush against Wisconsin, Clemson, LSU, and now Florida.

Absolutely agree. Not at all on the defense. But I was shocked we werent getting to the QB.
I was too especially with how bad the Florida line was supposed to be. I thought we would be in the backfield all day. Wish our line played like Florida’s line yesterday. We win if that’s the case.

They got to step the Fvck up, trevon hill and Rousseau got to play more, he looked like a difference maker out there(1 sack 2 tfls). He could have had more. Garvin got to step the Fvck up, he should hav abused uf oline.

Nesta will for SURE be back in 3 weeks so only miss 1 or 2 more games

1 sack and 5 tfls is not going to cut it period....

I know Some of that is due to the type of plays Mullen calls and he gets the ball out fast so not a lot of opportunity for negative plays but still. I was Disappointed in their pass rush. They were very impressive however in the run game.

If not we’ll get our **** pushed in against real passing teams.

They actually had 4 sacks vs clemson. 2 vs lsu.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I seen a lot of 3 man rush with a stand up DE or LB spying or a blitz with LB. Also the scheme had Franks moving to his left since he sucks at thowing while moving to the left.It seems like the D was dearing Mullen to make Frank win the game by throwing. The times we had Hill and GR15 in the game. They got to him but didn't make the plays.

Pretty pedestrian as UM lines go, historically speaking. Need to see more. Went up against an sec line with, what, 1 returning starter? They’ll get 6 sacks against the Chips in a month and everyone will start talking about who’s leaving early.

People complaining about this d line don’t know what they’re talking about, I only counted a handful of 5-7 step drops and even those were on early downs, they did a much better job than us keeping their inexperienced o line out of bad situations.

Special teams lost us this game but I’m more concerned with enos gameplan after the first couple Scripted drives than our d line. Our line will gain experience but Enos who has years of experience calling plays did not set them up to succeed especially late as they wore down.

Yall have to look at what the d-line was asked to do too. It's clear the gameplan was to not allow franks to beat them running. They weren't just lining up pinning their ears back like uf was doing.

And uf was throwing a lot of screens and dumpoff passes. They rarely threw the ball downfield. Mullen schemed to take away the pass rush and the LBs.
