Looks like Miami will be able to feature a solid two-deep this season. If they can stay healthy this team will be deep enough upfront to consistently dominate this season. This is a very mature group that should be able to get it done.

1st Team
SDE - Gregory Rosseau (RFR)
DT - Jon Ford (JR)
DT - Chigozie Nnoruka (RSR)
WDE - Jonathan Garvin (JR)

2nd Team
SDE -Scott Patchan (RSR)
DT - Nesta Silvera (SO)
DT - Pat Bethel (SR)
WDE - Trevon Hill (RSR)

Is Garvin big enough to slide down inside on obvious passing downs like Chad used to? If we had a viper package of Nesta to bull rush and collapse the pocket, Garvin doing his thing against a guard/center, and Hill/G-Reg on the outside containing that might be trouble.

Not at all Garvin is only about 250.

I prefer Garvin on the Weak side, but depending on what weight Hill comes in as I believe he'll be the starter at Strong-side.

IMO, Nesta will eventually be the starting 3-tech, but the coaches are going to value the experience of Seniors in Pat Bethel & Chigozie early on in the season, allowing for Nesta to be a pass rushing interior menace on 3rd down.

I also wouldn't be shocked to see Patchan as a Weak side rusher as well, even though typically DE's his size are SDE.

And yes I do believe Rousseau will play a ton on both sides as a pass rushing specialist.

1st
WSE- Garvin
DT - Nesta
NT - Ford
SSE - Patchan

2nd
WSE - Hill
DT - Bethel
NT - Nnoruka
SSE - Rousseau

Obviously down and distance will be important here. I love to see these 4 on the field in 3rd and long

WSE- Hill
DT - Patchan/Rousseau
NT - Nesta
SSE - Garvin

This is the most quality depth we've had in a LONGGGGGGG time. Cant wait to see what these guys can do!

I think Hill gets the nod but point taken. We aren't just throwing bodies out there. No more are the days of playing and relying on 260 pound Vegas Franklin types inside ….

KEEP BUILDING, take 6 more DL this year. That is how it's done ..

I don't believe that Trevon Hill is coming to The U to be a 2nd teamer!

And I forgot to add, no I don't expect Cam or any of the 3 Frosh DT's to come in & contribute right away.

I fully expect them to redshirt, with the exception of one DT, which one? Idk.

It's gonna be tough trying to decide who will start each week because of how much depth we have on the D-Line.

JJ was a big part of this defense. Saved a lot of potential big plays. Our line looks to be fine but everyone can slip a tackle here and there.
Huge difference when JJ was not in there.
Weather it was Carter or Knowles you saw a drop off.
Hopefully Gurvan can live up to the hype and Carter improves. Gurvan was my favorite recruit of that class and I’ve been waiting to se him take the next step.
