I like that defense very much playing down hill and getting after the QB!!!! Hoping 1 or 2 young CBs step up and are able to contribute. I am thinking Jackson and Young will play a role and Colbert will provide depth at nickel and spot duty at S.

Put mayes behind elder. Rumph said today that elder would kick inside in nickel packages and mayes and redwine would then be on the outside.

Jo jackson will be at wde behind aqm and harris because they already have bethel at sde. both will red-shirt i think if everybody stays healthy.
 
Looking good, I like the talent and depth on that side of the ball everywhere except obviously the CB group

Assuming the DLine plays to what we all think they should, and attack and disrupt the QB timing, look for opposing OC's to start calling short routes against us. Our CB's will be crucial to the success of this defense. I'm less worried about being attacked deep and more worried about or CB's being attacked short all game and being exposed.
 
If Mayes is starting when Elder is in Nickel then we are screwed. I am hoping Colbert or Young can solidify the Nickel spot

I might be crazy for thinking this, and feel free to slap me back into reality, but THAT looks like a championship caliber D.
 
If Owens can get back to 100% I really like our LB depth.

That DL...man. We have some horses there. Looking forward to seeing what Kool does with them. Mizzou had elite DL play with far less talented guys while he was there.

Looks good. The only changes I would make would be at FS and CB and I would put Johnson over Jenkins at FS and Colbert over Redwine at CB.
 
8-4?
That's a pretty good defense with the coaches we have. I'm way more optimistic than 8-4
