Deepest QB draft in recent history - where does that leave TVD/Miami?

I've noticed that too. Nobody talking about TVD. I think there's a chance he comesback next year but keep this in mind that Drew is his agent. Drew has a history of convincing players at the U to come out early when they should have stayed an extra year
Note that most of those guys are unemployed.

Travis is not a good pro prospect. That run around and make something happen nonsense will result in him being severely injured at the next level.
He is severely injured as we speak. He is not the version you saw at UF last year.

I don't understand why Riley Leonard is rated so high? He's just an OK passer imo. Only 2 TD passes on the season. 51.5% completion against Clemson. I don't see any big arm talent. What am I missing?

If TVD comes back next year. I honestly don't see anybody on our schedule. We would have a top 5 QB, RB, WR, and DE. You get Kam and Taylor to come back and well be ranked top 5 nationally. FSU and Clemson losing everybody.
I don’t see a world where they both come back. I think James Williams will come back

It's too early to tell. The entire conference schedule has yet to be played. He's basically starting off with a buffer of 11 TD/1,000yds. It'd be a pretty safe bet to assume at least 3500 yards and 25 TD's by years end. There's a very good chance he may be shooting up the mock drafts by November. He'll have a big decision that's for sure. I hope he comes back. It'd be nice to erase the effects of that 2022 season. If he came back next season, some significant UM passing records will be his to break, and deservedly so. No offense to the guy, but I'd love to see TVD at the top of the yardage list over Kayaa.

- Todd's composite ranking of QBs right now are as follows (these are names he thinks could go in first 3 rounds based on evaluation alone):
1. Caleb Williams (USC)
2. Drake May (UNC)
3. Shedeur Sanders (Colorado) <-- thinks Deon will talk him into staying one more year
4. Quinn Ewers (Texas)
5. Michael Penix (Washington)
6. Riley Leonard (Duke)
7. Bo Nix (Oregon)

- Next level QBs on a lot of NFL teams' boards include Spencer Rattler (South Carolina), Jordan Travis (FSU), Jaydan Daniels (LSU), Sam Hartman (ND) and JJ McCarthy (Michigan).

How many of these guys can come back for another year?

The nfl will take chances on OK passers that are athletic

Outside of Caleb Williams (starter), Maye (probably a starter, but I'm not sure I see a high ceiling) and Penix (quality backup and spot starter), I think these guys are major risks at the NFL level. Many of them will be grossly overdrafted/valued.

Leonard is a great running QB and athlete but don't think he passes well enough.

Wait y’all already giving up on Bryce? Haven’t been following.
Didn't want him in the first place cos I didn't think his game would translate to the NFL.

A washed up Andy Dalton came in against Seattle (Young is 'injured' after two horrific starts) and looked thrice the player.

TVD is 100% gone y’all boys,. Him and the staff have been acting and operating as such..

With so many QBs potential entering, it’ll come down to testing/combine and pro days imo.. he’s going to have to really show out at those events.

If I’m an NFL GM, I DO NOT WANT A RUN FIRST QB, PERIOD. He can run from the pocket when necessary on RARE OCCASION! I want a player who’s, mature, great leadership, low propensity for mistakes and high processing capabilities. That would lead me to take Sam Hartman and or TVD IF he comes available. I also like Schrader from Syracuse.
Let’s revisit this****

Listening to Todd McShay this morning on a podcast and he laid out a lot of interesting facts about this years NFL draft, specifically how it is by far the deepest QB draft he can remember in his 20 years covering NCAAF/NFL. Some key points:

- 4-to-4.5 QBs go in the first three rounds on average; thinks it will be higher this year, but any QB outside of the composite "top 10" may end up very late in the draft or go UDFA. There are WAY more QB prospects entering the draft this year and not enough teams to take them all.

- Todd's composite ranking of QBs right now are as follows (these are names he thinks could go in first 3 rounds based on evaluation alone):
1. Caleb Williams (USC)

I know we all think TVD is a top-tier college QB (he is) and is deserving of a high draft position (he should be), but based on where things stand today, he isn't even on anyone's radar in this year's draft evaluation. What are the chances he sticks around one more year? This is a freakish QB draft and unless he blows up on the national stage mid/late season, it may benefit him to wait it out one more year.
A lot of 5 star QBs on that list….

The NFL is a quarterback-starved league. When plenty of teams are dying for talent or an upgrade, it's tempting to oversell draft picks.
