Deep Dive into QB Stats

One QB led us to a 28-0 deficit against Va Tech....and one QB came extremely close to overcoming that same team.

One has moxy, pocket presence and wins. The other one doesn't...at least currently.

One holds the ball way too long & gets sacked. The other doesn't.

One wins...which is ultimately the only thing that matters....and that's Perry.

I hope Jarren continues to develop as a QB. I hope he learns how to do the little things that lead to wins. Right now I would roll with Perry as he is more likely to win (especially against FSU).

Perry 9 sacks in the last 7 quarters which is the same rate Williams has had per game... The defense plays a part in what qb wins let’s be real about the situation. I would Hope any d1 qb can win if the defense allows only 9 points total when the opposing offense has 5 drives inside the 25 yard line...

Williams can be a NFL starter. Perry will never play in the NFL and just doesn't have the mind to be a great QB . Even in the past 2 games he has made so many throws I was like what? I just can't see how people would want Perry on the feild IF Williams is healthy , which he isn't right now .Perry has to start til williams is healthy as we saw what happens when he is not when the VT game happened. Williams never should of been out there . Diaz failed him .

Also you can bench Perry and he ain't going anywhere but if you bench Williams we will lose the best QB prospect we have had in 20 years to transfer.

Shows that Nkosi is better when the pressure is higher.
And can make throws past the **** chains. People just don't understand how important that is. High completion % looks nice, but it's meaningless if you're not moving the chains.

Still, the O gets too bogged down with both of them. I'm not sure either is the answer, but right now I think Perry is the better option of the two.

How can Williams be an NFL starter if he can't throw the ball down the field or avoid pressure? I was all in on Williams, but the guy just has shown no ability to make big league throws.

OK, this nonsense has gone too far. I'm no Williams apologist, I'm only here for whoever is playing and for Miami winning. But now he literally can't throw the ball down the field? But Perry can?

Williams YPA: 8.7
Perry YPA: 8.1

I watched Perry overthrow multiple wide-open receivers on Friday that should have been walk-in touchdowns, and he missed them by several yards.

And Williams can't avoid pressure? I thought he's actually done a halfway decent job of it, although I have said several times that Perry is better in that regard. But y'all are acting like Williams is Brad Kaaya back there. Yeah, he's taken a ton of sacks. Mostly against UF, where the moment was clearly too big for him and he had no chance behind that line. But I believe Perry has been sacked 9 times in the last 1 3/4 games. 6 against VT and 3 against UVA. But he's elusive and Williams is a statue? Y'all gotta be consistent.

Thats a pretty accurate comparison when it comes to handling pressure...

Mic drop, and you know they won’t be consistent.

Mic drop, really? The only reason Perry's YPA is lower is because he played Virginia in his first start of the season. I guarantee you that number goes up as he goes against other teams. Also, Williams played against Bethune and CMU to help his stats. Oh wait, he didn't exactly help his stats against mighty CMU. Then we can look at the VT game, if you'd like.

I'm not a huge fan of what either brings to the table, because they both have major faults. Williams lost us the VT game by putting us in a huge hole. He was also unable to put more than 17 up against CMU.

Also, Perry got sacked against VT 6 times because, get this ****, he had to PASS A **** OF A LOT MORE AND BUD FOSTER KNEW IT. Shocking, I know. Coming in 28-0 obviously means the D knows you are going to be throwing the **** ball. By the way, who lead the comeback? What do you think the score would have been had Williams stayed in?

You fools talk about consistent, well THIS fool wants consistency at the QB position. I'm not picking sides because I was on the Perry train, but rather because my eyes don't lie to me. Williams just wasn't leading the O well.

Now, Perry might go out and lay an egg this weekend. It wouldn't surprise me one bit. In fact, I'm expecting him to sooner rather than later. Problem is, Williams isn't good enough to play good games week after week himself. Neither is the answer, as far as I'm concerned. Perry just has a better feel for down and distance, and we desperately need that right now.

The guy made sound points of people trying to insinuate he’s like kaaya in the pocket which isn’t the case .

Unc game don’t count for Williams? Their d made jamie Newman who is having a **** of a season look bad and Trevor Lawrence yet Jarren Williams looked better than either of those guys. Those first 2 games were the only games we had our offense somewhat clicking passing wise and running wise especially vs unc. And I’m talking about the pressure/sacks comment and throwing down the field in which people say Williams don’t do. News flash we didn’t have more than 1 throw that traveled at least 10 yards in air that was completed other than Osborn catch and we didn’t complete a pass over the middle of the field vs uva.

And kudos on Perry with the comeback vs va tech, he played great that game, no one said he didn’t. But it’s a fallacy to say the offense looked better considering we HAD to throw to get back in that game and it wasn’t necessarily a normal offense that also involved running game. The offense didn’t look any better against uva than we looked all season vs other power 5 competition but i digress.

and I actually Think one or both of these guys can be the answer, I dont Know why people are so quick to write guys off.

Did I once mention the name, Kaaya? And one decent game against UNC, actually a good two quarters, the rest was not so great, does not make him Trevor Lawrence. Let's also not forget how slow starting we were against freaking Bethune Cookman. Should we forget that happened as well?
