I thought I read on here that Lafayette has long arms?
I think he does. But he’s 6’1.

Personally, I like Lafayette. I would rather take a guy with an exceptional skill (athleticism/pass rush) than a box checker who doesn’t move the needle in any category. He has big-time offers so I don’t think this is an eval rationalization.

How often do we take these 'unique' builds just for like 2 years later to not do hack **** with them and then be like 'oh well he is too much of a tweener'?

For ***** sake this staff barely even was playing Lightfoot. What the **** is this dude going to do here? Cause he **** sure isn't going to be playing any Edge for us. He will be a LB here. He will have the same issue Harold Perkins has had at LSU and why he doesn't produce for ****. Except here Lafayette literally won't even get PT.

Sure this dude could contribute. He won't here, because this staff won't play him. It's as simple as that

Lofton is too much of a hybrid RB/TE and sucks. How many light edges have we seen fail here? Lightfoot is the only guy in a remotely similar mold and athleticism and he was practically a 5star... I'm telling you this is a waste of a take.
How much does pickett play? Why did Rudolph leave so quickly? How long was Cyrus Moss here? lmao. I legit don't see the point unless Heatherman is planning on legit playing him as Toure replacement eventually lol. Hey he can't be worse in coverage..?

naw EJ was like 220 or so i think coming in. He use to show how much he weighed on his socials.

This kid just looks a lot thicker honestly…NH...Reminds me of Spencer Adkins honestly, or somewhere between Adkins and Mcdougal

I see him as a Toure type and he may actually be better in space and get bigger. If he does add 30lbs he could be large enough to set the edge and play DE. Lightfoot came in at 200-210 and now is 230. Charles is the kid that looks to be a real DE that can get to 250-260 within a year. They have also targeted a bunch of 250-260 kids and some may be unable/willing to mass thus stay at DE/DT similar to Blount.

“Their pitch to me is they want me to know they want me and they know that I’m a player that will be put to use,” Lafayette told CaneSport. “(Rueben) Bain and (Akheem) Mesidor and a few other ends are leaving and they need people to replace them and they think I could be one of those people.”
Maybe reading too much into this quote, but that means 2-3 ends would be portalling, since Mesidor is the only end with no more eligibility and Bain is going pro. Not exactly surprising.

League Bound/Eligibility: Bain + Mesi

Malik Bryant, Marquise Lightfoot, Hayden Lowe, Booker Pickett, Armondo Blount, Herbert Scroggins III, Cole McConathy II are all eligible to return.

Lightfoot has been your 3rd man in rotation with 162 snaps and Blount your 4th kicking outside with 72 snaps off the edge.

behind them Scroggins w/ 4 games-37 snaps and Pickett w/ 5 games-33 snaps.

Lowe out for the year with injury.

Bryant & McConathy are or have been injured recently, Bryant the only to get PT this year in Weeks 1 + 2 totaling 25 snaps on the year. McConathy hasnt seen the field since Week 10 '24 vs Duke.

I'd say its fair to question the return of those two in '26.

only one i could see portaling is malik bryant if he wants to start full time somewhere his last szn

I think that prediction is too soon to make. Could be one could be three. A lot will depend on who else enters and how active Miami is at DE and Jack.

He wasn't on the "confirmed visitor" list on 247?

NVM: In another post he said he was definitely there

The thing with Lafayette is that he has unusual athleticism. He uses a jump cut like a tailback, which makes sense since he also plays tailback.
So what you’re saying his speciality is knocking QBs out
