Grab the JMU LB as wellWhy not both?
they were never amateurs. They were paid via scholarship to play sports. That is compensation. But he’s also no longer an amateur
Excetly this...anyone *****ing about "the new college football" that is also a Miami Hurricanes fan has the memory of a goldfish. **** the NCAA forever and **** the good ol boys club that it artificially propped up by limiting player movement and selectively enforcing rules around compensation. The same people that are *****ing about this were really ******* pumped about our playoff run (which literally NEVER would have happened prior to about 4 years ago).Exactly.
For all the "it's out of control, it's ruining the game" arguments, I would ask...why in the **** were you cheering and supporting THE OLD SYSTEM? People who complain TODAY seemed to like the system of YESTERDAY. And maybe that's the problem, it was always unsustainable, it was always going to collapse, but everyone just stood around with pom-poms doing nothing to create a better and fairer system.

Probably goes back to lsuLot of pages for a guy who won’t be playing for Miami this year.
It’s a sad day when college football and the WNBA are mentioned in the same thought.Listen… if Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White can get into the WNBA, I have no qualms about guys leaving pro camps to come back to college sports. Up is down in the world right now, I just want a natty.
I don’t know if I agree with the snaps argument. From what I have read, he can’t re-enter the draft I believe no matter what his rights are tied to the bucs, unless maybe they cut him he would be a free agent I’m not exactly sure. but I’m sure if they didn’t think he was going to make the roster I’m sure they wouldn’t cut him and instead tell him to go back to school develop more and come back next season ready to compete. Now the question is not where he will get the most snaps but most development, and how many guys are you taking over Jason Taylor to develop and get him the most nfl ready. That’s the pitch and if he’s smart that should be his mindset

Makes sense although one way to spin it is less wear and tear on his body preserves his NFL longevity better than a high usage year. Some of you guys don’t seem to get the point about “starting”. It’s got nothing to do with whether or not Miami could use him. They would take him in a second. It’s the idea of a player coming back to college to play a part time role. I assume he would prefer to play somewhere he will be featured and get a lion’s share of the snaps. Rather than go somewhere to get 15 snaps a game in obvious run situations only.
If he’s totally cool with going through a ground breaking lawsuit to come back to college to be a reserve. Good for us. I just don’t see why someone would.
10th Circuit just granted a stay of the TRO. NCAA filed a petition with the JPML to centralize the cases. Doesn’t look like these guy are gonna the opportunity to play football this year. Other sports may have time to work it out….
Depends on whether they filed their actions in state or federal court. If they joined the Wisne action, they can’t play. If they filed a separate case in state court and won, this stay doesn’t apply to them. That case does not apply to these football players

It's not like this kid would be starting vs. Stanford. If our head ball coach thinks that either of these kids can help us win, then sign they asses up. The way college football is shaping up in 2026 and beyond, is that these are 1 year deals. Everyone will have time to make decisions on their futures after the season is over with. Mario is trying to win now, heen got time to be worried about somebody's feelings getting hurt. They can worry about their feelings after we make another deep playoff run. That's my .02 worth. The team seems to have great chemistry. Bringing in a player this late has the potential to change the mindset of current players. Yes, more depth is great, but at what cost? Players on this team that have a decision to maker after this season may be more triggered to leave when if they see players are being brought in last minute to play over them.
