Those are different situations. One has been on the roster for two years albeit injured and other stuff but still in the building working. 1 is currently in nfl camp and would show up 1 week before a season to take snaps away.

I understand it’s business and at this point minor league sports with contracts so teams are always looking to improve rosters but I wouldn’t think it would sit well with the others.

Either way I doubt this kid comes back to college even with a massive Nil check.

Out of pure desperation it was necessary. Pyburn does not fall into that category. I don’t even think TE falls into that category but I believe it’s closer to necessary than SDE (pyburn)
 
Would definitely help out depth but is anyone going to go back to college to be a backup defensive end?

Putting all the details aside the one thing I held on to while we were struggling is it seemed like we were on top of our game with how things are changing

Many big teams held out to adapt because I think they were maybe a bit arrogant and maybe thought things wouldn’t last

My concern with Mario from day 1 was would he be willing to adapt and keep up. Manny did this pretty well honestly. But we’ve been on top of the game and it always made me feel a bit more optimistic we would get it straightened out

Mario showed right away he could adapt off the field ie recruiting, NIL, etc. It was his game day management that left some of us with ??? Last year, he seemed to have put to bed many of those game management questions.
 
I get the argument that they would have decided to return had they had eligibility in the first place and the eligibility rule was only changed AFTER they thought they had none remaining. So this situation is the NCAAs fault for not just waiting till this yr actually started or enacting the rule BEFORE the season ended. Instead the NCAA chose the only time that would result in lawsuits.

However I think anyone who actually signed a contract and not just a try out still should be out of eligibility.

I don't think we take anyone though. Unless it's already a dude who had no hope of making it in the NFL and is happy being a rotational guy here... Like we have 3 Edges we are going to play a lot. Is Pyburn or someone else willing to be in a heavy rotation? If that happened Davis could probably slide even more to DT. But Honestly an older Inline blocking TE is the most realistic take imo.

Agreed. One thing that drove me nuts about guys like Shannon and Golden was the lack of accountability

Manny for all his faults at least seemed to acknowledge it

I was a bit concerned Mario would be slow to adapt and you could see college football was about to change like crazy

I’ve never been more happy to be wrong

Mario went Air Raid….I was like ok ok we are fine 🤣

I’m not a lawyer (one of the few) but by the time the courts and systems get their thumbs out of their asses these guys will be long and graduated
