DE possible addition?

These are decisions by courts, so they can only be overturned on appeal to a higher court. I’m sure the NCAA is appealing many of the rulings but the appeals process can take longer than the length of a college football season. So the likelihood that a case will be appealed and overturned before the end of the 2026 season is very, very small to basically non existent.
Was gonna say by the time appeals play out even Toure will have moved on

He’s older than some guys on their 2nd NFL contracts.
The joke used to be that he was old enough to buy beer for the others.

Now the joke is that Toure is old enough to rent a car.

Yeah he was in the same recruiting class as Tyrique Stevenson

It’s also likely the worst recruiting class in Miami history don’t even look at it

No brainer, you take him.

He brings a talent that we could actually use more of. We have the pass rushers that are quick, twitchy with bend and that’s not his game. He’s a big olb that will eat space and stop the run. He’s kinda stiff with short arms but his physicality and willingness to stick his nose in the run game would be huge. It also allows the DC more flexibility especially with Blounts abiiity to play outside and then kick inside. Lastly this would make the Lowe situation sting less. I imagine LSU will be on him as well.
Whoah he’s back! We kicking the tires on any of these other guys? TE from ole miss and LB from JMU could be intriguing.

Foe those who are accurately pointing out that playing a minimum 12 games season, and possibly 16-17 requires tremendous depth, I have one sincere question. How in the world do NFL teams play that many games with just 45 plus 8 or so on the practice squad? Even with signing guys off the street to fill during an emergency, NFL rosters are nowhere close to the size of CFB rosters.

I ask sincerely. I’m much more of a basketball guy and CFB and NBA rosters are almost identical in size. Why do college football teams need so many more players than their professional counterparts to play a similar (usually fewer) number of games?

This has nothing to do with Pyburn or anyone on the list we’ve been discussing. It is just a general question.
Its 53 plus the practice squad, and the practice squad of every team is available. And i think the nfl is better with injury management & recovery since the have more/better resources, and i think there are some college practices that are tougher than nfl practices

I completely agree with that and would add to that nfl players are working with bodies that are completely matured and also playing against guys whose bodies are the same way. In college you can a 18 or 19yr old who is still coming into shape playing against a 24year old and that discrepancy leads to increased injuries

Very true this is probably the biggest difference

I believe he talked a lot of **** about the Gators after he left UF.

This is all the NCAA’s fault.

Don’t blame the players and don’t blame the courts.

Go all the way back to the Oklahoma-Georgia lawsuit in the early 1980s regarding TV contracts. The NCAA had a monopoly on how many times a program could appear on television. Oklahoma and Georgia told them to **** off. The Supreme Court agreed.

The NCAA has done nothing positive for college football. Every change made from the BCS, to the 4 team playoff, to the 12 team playoff, to the transfer portal, to NIL was forced on the NCAA by the courts or by the men with the money.

All the NCAA needed was people in charge with foresight and vision to see what college football should be.

Instead, here we are.

This TRO was based on the NCAAs violation of antitrust labor laws. The NCAA changed their rules to allow 5 years of eligibility in 5 years—no more redshirts, exemptions, etc. But said this rule only applied proactively to rising seniors. So the kids who graduated as seniors this year, who played 4 straight years, had no eligibility left and could not avail themselves of the rule. A kid in the same class, who, for example, had taken a medical redshirt and had only played 3 years, would get a 5th year of eligibility. So applicability of the rule across classes of similar situated athletes was not equal. The NCAA is an admitted monopoly and was again wielding their power to exclude athletes (labor) from a defined market (Div 1 college athletics). This violates the law.

The NCAA has taken the position that this TRO only applies to Div 1 athletes so they will not extend the ruling to Div 2 and 3 athletics. On Tuesday I filed in the SDCal, along with 2 other firms, a class action for Div 2 and 3 athletes. We’re hopeful that a TRO will be granted and give Div 2 and 3 athletes the same opportunities that the Div 1 athletes were granted by the Wisne Court in Colorado.
