Why?
If there’s ever a limit put on college football, don’t you think it’ll go back to the way it was with under the table payments for SEC schools???
I prefer the open market and everything being above board that way they cannot cheat

Hopefully someone is in the kids ear about that. Flashy plays are cool and all and someone will take him on measurables if he stays at USCe.

Bain isn’t the pass rusher this kid is. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen Bain not basically set the edge where he wants it to be. He’s just an unbelievable run defender as a DE. If this kid has any sense he’d see Bain’s growth and know he’d be an early pick if he came here.

Yea Bain is great vs the run a rare DE in this age. He would be a top 3 pick for me. Just on that part of the job alone

Pay what it takes. He can wreck a game. In saying that, you have to have a whole line of Beasts. Damon Wilson got paid by Mizzou and they are like 7-5. You saw when they start gameplanning for Bain others started to eat. And yes that's what they did to Bain. Double teams can wear an elite defender down, having to break one every play is tough.

Kudos to Bain that while he wasn't getting the pressures or sacks he still held strong in the run game and didn't let effect his overall game

His run defense is often missed just box score watching. And it’ll suck not having him to control the edge next season. Felt like 20-30 times a game he was just waiting in the backfield for the RB to meet him there.

One of the most disciplined defenders we've had in a while, on top of the talent. There's the one clip against FSU where Castellanos pulls the ball on an option run and the camera pans to Bain just standing their waiting for him.

That thread that popped up last week about Bain being overrated cause his numbers didn’t equal Mesidor’s was one of the dumbest to ever grace this site imo. Bain is probably the most doubled player in America. After he had ND on skates week 1 the writing was on the wall. Of course Meaidor ate. He has the best defensive player in America across from him.

Gunna have a hard time replacing Bain and Mesidor next year

Maybe Blount after another offseason of development, but outside of that who has proven they can hold up against the run and bring consistent pass rush the way both Mesidor and Bain did

We might be hitting the portal hard at DE
 
Interesting to see how Lightfoot, Pickett, Scroggins, and Blount develop. Obviously Lightfoot, Pickett, and Scroggins are probably your WDE, will they gain enough/weight and strength to be an every down DE? Does Blount gain an extra 10-15lbs over the offseason? Regardless they are probably gonna have to portal a DT and SDE.

I like the development the second year guys did show. I know the allure of the SEC is out there, but we’ve got guys probably going early in the draft from the DL. That should sell to portal guys.
