DC candidates

Some of you guys are thinking too small. Don't forget how much $ Mario was promised for coordinators. Think bigger.
Exactly. We now have the opportunity to lure the best and brightest coordinators. For DC offer guys like Mason or Leonhard 2 million plus. Pitch the job as the opportunity to build the best and baddest defense in the nation. Having that type of quality at DC is one heck of a safety blanket.

At OC I want someone who is intelligent and innovative who runs a fun up tempo offense where TVD can thrive and we can break school scoring records. Think big! We aren't team Walmart anymore so stop thinking like it. Think Neiman Marcus instead.

I don’t care what we run. Can we ****** tackle and have DBs that can make plays on the ball? When was the last time y’all saw a Miami DB break on the football?

I want to see nasty again

Who comes to mind?
Some people have named big names which I agree with, some haven't. First choice would be one of the Georgia guys, hoping they want to get rid of the "co-title". Leonhard would be my #2.

I'd normally question their interest. But I've heard how Brady might come on O, we just paid a hc 80M over ten, and are talking about stealing Clemson's AD and tripling his salary. Why not swing for the fences?

Only thing that worries me is figuring out who is the biggest part of making that thing go between those two Co-DCs and Kirby. For some reason I feel like Lanning is the more important DC out of the two but I could be wrong.

You don’t run a 3-4 without the requisite NT and 4i’s don’t ******* care if it’s hybrid or not. You run the system that you can find the players for. Our players are fast and undersized cause that’s our crootin backyard.

Win and get to pick who u want then maybe we can change. But 3/4 is not a good look for us based on who we target

So Mark Richt didn't understand the type of players in S Fl? His #1 choice for DC was Aranda. And he runs a 3-4. I think you are stuck in the 3-4/4-3 debates from a decade ago. 3-4 has a lot of variations now. Aranda invented a version of the 3-4 that doesn't rely on war daddies.

"But after Allen graduated Wisconsin was bereft of said war daddies, so Aranda adapted. Namely, he crafted “peso,” a front that relies less on one war daddy in the middle as a nose tackle and instead relies on two lighter (but still big, think more like 6-3 275 lbs) guys who play inside over the guards while fielding a plethora of versatile linebackers." Leonhard is an Aranda disciple.

Cristobal and Leonhard would have no problem finding 6'3" 275 lb players in S Fl.

Mario worked with them ar Bama. I am sure he knows the truth

Found my favorite.

Vince Kehres from Toledo.

2nd year DC at Toledo, turned them into a top 20 D.

Previous to that was Mount Union head coach for 7 years. Won multiple championships.

Previous to being Mount Union HC, he was there DC for 8 years. won Multiple Championships

He has been a part of 12 NCs at Mount as a player, assistant, and HC.

His pops was HC there for over 25 years.

Played or coached with Matt Campbell, Alex Grinch, Jason Candle, and Nick Srianni (eagles HC)

Our old friend Kul is Toledo’s DL coach so we know that Kehres runs the single gap attacking front that Mario prefers.

that dude is a legend up here in northeast ohio. I wouldn't be upset at all If we got him as DC

doesn't seem to be any connection though so I doubt he gets a call
