You do realize that on every team in america that is how you earn snaps right? Remember Sony michel being the gunner for Jawja as a frosh, All of bama's stud DBs, LBs, and WRs are on their specials.

I don't claim to know all the intricacies of DB coverage but I do know that whenever I saw an LSU receiver get open and make a catch for a big gain, there was #6 getting beat time and again. I would have to think we'll see a lot more of Blades and Frierson as the season progresses. Especially with a couple of lightweights coming up on the schedule. The coaches might not be as gun shy about playing them as they were against LSU.

This is true actually. Surtain Jr was the #1 CB in the nation and Saban had him on STs in that Louisville game. Now with that said, we don't have a slew of 5*s in our secondary like Bama we have a guy who probably should have never been here anyway (Knowles) so GHall should be out there playing.
 
I saw last season when he miss timed that jump ball that he was trash. I don't see how Rumph and Manny don't. But they continue to tell lies at practice that he improved.

I understand all that and it’s fine to use those guys on special teams but if they’re good enough to play then let them play. Plenty of freshman players made an impact on games last week and I’m pretty sure they’re not all special teams experts. There is absolutely NO REASON Hall shouldn’t be able to get reps when they’re trotting D3 talent on the field like Knowles

I have the feeling we will see Hall a whole lot more, but i honestly get what the staff did. Go with your vets for a game of this magnitude being the first game of the year. At least, to my knowledge, we didnt see knowles out there for a single play after that TD.

That, not making dumb mistakes with penalties and jahvontae dean not playing as much. We literally had 60-70% of their passing yards given up by one player...

Exactly... that's what elite coaches do. They bring in those difference makers at need positions.
