Dbs vs LSU

Dean was up and down. He made some good plays and some bad plays. I’m not giving up on anyone on that defense other than Knowles and rotating players constantly. LSUs starting field position was insane and tough for a defense to overcome.
Dean rated worst in pass coverage of all our DBs. He simply doesn't get his head around. He is a liability and shouldn't see the field.
Gurvan Hall definitely need to play ahead of knowles period
Its tough to crown these guys, especially DBs. One mistake could cost 6 real quick. Hall's time will come.
Not sure why all the hate on Redwine. He and Jaquan did their jobs. He wasn't even in the game on that 50 yard run. Knowles was.

So coach makes the call to sit everyone who isn't up to snuff even if it means putting in a freshmen who has only been here 2 months (Blades) but refuses to pull Rosier and give Weldon or Williams a shot? Hmmm..Makes sense! Smh.
I always say I am one of the most critical on Redwine. He played fine vs LSU. He looks way more comfortable than he did last year. If he plays at that same level all season, we are just fine at safety.

Gurvan Hall basically gave Saban the 🖕🏾 And told him to turn his helicopter back around to KKKLand and with all his talent he can’t even get on the field before Knowles because he has to prove himself on special teams first? 😂😂😂 Yeah that’s really a great strategy to get a player like Stevenson to come play for u

Honestly...I think dean is actually playing out of position. Guy is probably the best DB when it comes to tackling outside of Quan. Staff should really look at what he could do at Safety.

You mean the same Dean that coaches said barely played last year because he had to be a more willing tackler? The one Rumph basically said sucked in zone coverage? That’s the guy you think should be our last line of defense? I’m gonna choose to believe you were joking.

The dude that breaks down the games on Twitter (Daniel Gould maybe?) said Dean didn't play a snap in the second half, Ivey got all his snaps.

Blades only played nickel. Dude said he thinks Bandy stays outside and Blades becomes nickel, as our primary nickel defensive unit.

Major props to Blades.
Link to this twitter dude please?

Not defending or criticizing any particular DB. But manny puts them in horrible spots by his awfully timed blitzes. I dont think ive seen a blitzer get to the QB since corn elder. Most of the time he takes the dude completely out of the play, making us play 10 on 11 or 9 on 11.

Hall's time shouldve been against LSU, we've had true freshmen before start at safety out the gate regardless of the competition, Hall we are just asking for him to be in the rotation. I'd rather he make a freshman mistake that a veteran like Jaquan Johnson can talk him through while on the field at the same time, instead of Knowles getting abused regardless if he was in the right spot or not.

But what's the point, if he ends up being as bad as, or worse, than Knowles? For this one game, or over his career.

I get the Knowles frustration and I don't think he should ever see the field either. But Knowles' play proves how important that last line of defense is. Guys need to know their assignments or its 6.

There was obviously some comfort level with Knowles. I recall it being said that he was in position a lot, and just needed to make the play. He only got 5 snaps as a reserve. He failed pretty miserably, even if it wasn't all his fault. I'd assume after breaking in the new guys over the next few weeks, he is done too.

I think permanently to the bench are: Rosier, Knowles
To be phased out over the next 2 months: Dean, J. Jones,

Well at least the defensive staff is quick to make changes...

Both Knowles and Dean were benched in the second half

Dean at the 25 seconds mark....
Wtf is he doing?

He sees the receiver running a stop route that HE was guarding and still proceeds to keep running deep like he was playing a deep ball....

This comes back to recruiting, IMO. You can't tell me having one of the Herritage kids out there instead of Dean wouldn't have made a difference. Gotta win those battles going forward.
