You can't say enough about the way Rumph has developed these players. MJ, Bandy and Malek are all in the top 8 in the ACC.

Banda has been doing well even with the lack of overall talent at safety. The play of JJ has been awesome to watch. Earlier in the year I was harsh on Redwine, but he played very strong against VT. Even Carter and Smith have made plays the last couple weeks. Knowles I feel will be left on specials only going forward.

They are showing great awareness and playing better than we could have hoped. Imagine what will happen when we're loaded with studs like Jobe, Frierson, Hall, Ivey, Blades and hopefully Campbell.

Yeah Bama has been developing his guys too as well. Last year we had the best db play at safety and cornerback than we have had in over 10 years. This year even with losing 4 nfl dbs they have somehow improved the group even more and are developing ballhawking dbs who can hit. I haven’t seen our defense get this many ints was this fast in years

Can't wait till UFag hires a new coach and he brings in Paul Williams to coach the secondary

There is another coach helping our dbs -- Kool. That pressure makes db better. But what I love is the run support they giving, the gang tackles and the fact that even if there is a competition, the is 1 or 2 Canes right there. No more 10 yard cushions. Did I mention the hitting? Brings back memories.

Obviously a great DL helps, but I see these DBs getting it done regardless of what the DL does. Our guys are excellent in man coverage. We simply don't get beat deep, and there have been plenty of attempts that our guys have thwarted.

I give a slight edge to Jackson because he is so good at locating the ball, but Young and Bandy have been excellent as well.

At the end of last season, I thought we would struggle mightily at this position group. Happy to say I was wrong.
