Seeing that LSU has made the decision to get rid of Coach O, if Corey Raymond wanted to come coach db here. Would you take him over TRob?

Corey Raymond:

-Born in LA
-Raised in LA
-Played CFB at LSU
-After NFL career, came back to coach in LA both at the HS & Collegiate levels (LSU)
-Stepped outside of the state for only two yrs of his coaching to IMMEDIATELY come right back to LSU.
-Signed a 3 yr extension, making him a top 7 highest paid DB coach in the nation.

Verdict: Raymond ain’t going no where

At this point, if we get stuck with Manny, just offer him the DC job. Him not ever being offered at LSU makes me wonder but in that scenario, why not?

They are the same guys. Very overrated coaches who are very good recruiters. Nice guys. Cool guys. Just average at best coaches who have benefited from amazing talent. The really good ones they have recruited did not need developed and made it to the league without any help from them. This is the case with 75% of college football coaches IMO.

He’s an LSU lifer, he’s never leaving.

He’s coached through both the Miles & Orgeron regimes & he will be retained by whoever the next HC is.

His contract is paid by their boosters, he’s been offered jobs at UGA, TAMU & Bama & has turned them all down, he has no desire to coach anywhere else but LSU.

He’s the Odell Haggins of LSU

Not true, Corey Raymond is as legit as it gets.

Yes he does benefit from coaching talented guys, but he’s also a very good technical coach & is highly respected in the business both in college & on the pro level.

What you’re describing applies more to Bama & UGA coaches, Raymond is a cut above the rest & could absolutely coach up a group of JUCO Corners into All-conference players.

That's what I was wondering about the most as far as how good of a coach is he..

Not really, TRob is a really good coach too, he’s also one of the best in the business.

He’s produced multiple 1st round Corners at both South Carolina & UF, and all of them haven’t been 4/5-star recruits.

What you’re saying in general applies to staffs like Bama, UGA, OH St & a few others, but guys like Corey Raymond & TRob are outliers.
