Daxon dropped

He ain’t coming even if we pushed...

I don't care what anybody says- I blame this on Kewl. The kid was on record saying that Miami was his dream school. Sure, 10000 kids say that every cycle but when it's a legacy you need to at least be in it to the end. I think Kewl's lazy *** was too quick to take the kid's family at their word that he was staying home and he didn't put in any addl work on his recruitment.

Jesu Christo, other recruiters would be producing forged letters and old teammates saying it was his dad's lifelong wish that his son be a Cane.

It is his fault...a recruiter’s job is to essentially make your school like a second home. On top of that, I’m pretty sure Karlaftis has family here to begin with.

Was reading that DieHards article that Paranos posted - what's the deal with Daxon's "guardian", Tunsil? Methinks this might have more to do with him than Daxon not showing up for the ice cream social. Daxon might be good, but he isn't so good that it's worth having the NCAA up your culo. Otherwise, this makes no sense, as I can't see a reason you wouldn't take him even if he is raw.

keep Munoz and Holley, go get Ingraham and Fuller, and then shoot your shot for Davis. Those 4 without Davis is a B+/A- DL class. Land all 5 and that's an A+ class and JS should get an extension on his contract.

Fuller not gonna be easy...Are we even still involved there? Did he make FSU that weekend when he skipped Paradise? Kid seems flaky as **** to begin with talking about his top 15 while posted, his brand, etc...

I mean I hope we aren't going back to that group of former Dade teammates again...Fuller/Daxon. Both offered and taken and then told no thanks? Let's not cry when we miss some Dade kids and then co-sign on this?

Skeet but do you think he was dropped by the staff? This looks to be at least a mutual agreement as this kid didn't show up to any of our events. If he wanted to be at Miami maybe he would have come to the class and proved he belonged.
Hard to understand why he wasn't at Paradise.

We took a lot of commitments from kids without high upside, not sure why this time around

Such as?

Pretty much the entire class has high upside. Some of them won't develop probably, but looking at the commit list basically everyone has the potential to be at least a good college player

Holy **** you're having a meltdown.

Kids get dropped, it happens everywhere. And Fuller was disliked by other commitments, so lol at anyone holding a grudge

Just no reason to turn down a talented DL ever...stack chips and throw numbers at the position. too much upside w Daxon.

I digress if there are some grade issues or if kid is a total a$$shole

I mostly agree BUT there is an element to this that we just don’t know.
We don’t know why they turned him down. If it was football related at all.
Or if the kid dropped us.

Kid is from the Bahamas and grew up a die hard Cane fan.

Jess didn't want him.

I'm sure this kid is hurt about the situation, and it definitely wasn't mutual.

Probably got some bad advice from Tunsil and didn't show up to camps for whatever reason.
But went to a June FIU camp.. no excuses bye Daxon.

No, no meltdown...Still firmly on board. Just disagree strongly with the move.

I'm thinking Ingraham, Munoz, and Holley will be in this class for sure. The only question is if we can also land a guy like Tyler Davis or Quashon Fuller or something. If we can't than I'm happy with 3 DTs this class.

Ultimately I like Daxon, but if he isn't even going to come to the two biggest recruiting events on campus this summer, than it's clearly his own fault/decision to not be in this class.

Your first paragraph talks about “no reason not to stack chips!” Then later finish up covering your tracks if it comes out grades or other issues arise “I digress if...”

This dude is a back up plan which by the sound of it looks like we could circle the wagons back later... we need top talent if we want to win nattys if you want more sub par talent so we can “own dade” and be middle of the pack in the ACC

I don’t have a clue what happened in this kids recruitment.
But if we did indeed dropped him to make room for top talent I would rather they had that top talent committed before they dropped him.

This in the bold likely happened. He lives with him, on the days of our camps they (tunsil and the others living with him) went to other schools or was out of town. I think when paradise was going on ..they were at FIU lineman camp. Not sure if Tunsil just thought Daxon was locked in and deciding to get his other kids offered. But it is what it is. Also notice all those kids left Doral and are moving around and i believe Tunsil says he is done with hs coaching. If kid likely makes it to Paradise and performs he's still a Cane. Neither he nor Wardrick Wilson made Paradise..both bahamian kids with Tunsil.
