Dawson is what prevented us from a title. We probably need a new OC

Lmao!

There’s a lot of ***gots to fire and roast after this game.

He’s not one of them.

On the Beck interception, two guys were open underneath and there was as zero pressure since they rushed three and kept a pseudo spy there.

If Beck doesn’t go for it all there, it’s another 1st down.
1st and 10, we had it

Im not blaming Dawson for this loss. He didnt whiff on a punt block or miss a field goal.

That said, in two of the four playoff games (TAMU & IU) he played with his food the entire first half, and called a totally predictable half. We were scoreless at halftime and got the opening kickoff.

I'd like to see us bring in Mike McDaniel if he wants it.
No maybe he didn't block the kick, but someone got to take the heat for the first half

Yep.

And even Ole Miss.

We had 17 points going into the 4th quarter. Beck didn’t complete a pass beyond the LOS the entire second half until the final drive.

It’s only when Ole Miss started to score that Dawson got out of his shell.

This too CJ catches it but when he does the db is all over him all season. We needed a star wr for a game like this and we can’t get them. We can get the overlooked small ones but them 6’3 dogs we can’t get
We got some coming in this year. that kid Iowa State lost to us is a STUD. On a side note we really missed Riley WIlliams...dam kid all we needed was one more year from you and we the champs...smh

Your words not mine.

Good luck winning a game by taking the first half off offensively.

Go sit in the corner with the rest of the participation trophy crew.
Dawson wasn’t perfect tonight. But they adjusted after HT. If we are going to blame Dawson for the first half. Hetherman needs some blame for the second half, mainly the fourth quarter.

We can sit here and point fingers and blame this play or that play. We had a chance to win. Against a team no one beat.

At some point we gotta take this for what it is. We lost a heartbreaking game we could’ve to a good team. This wasn’t Louisville or SMU where we looked bad for 60 minutes minus a few plays. We held our own.

Yall can blame the players all you want and they made ton of mistakes for sure.

But we consistently started slow offensively all season. Most teams have their best **** early in games and somehow we were the opposite.

It took Dawson until mid 3rd quarter to start finding a good way to attack Indiana its just not good enough.

You have to make adjustments faster period.
Especially with a team that can score!

Our young wrs need to hit. Got some dudes in the portal too.

Moore can be a dude with time. 15 made several acrobatic catches before getting hurt

Hard to judge Dawson without a receiving corps.

Toney is a stud but he can’t beat you outside. You can bracket him and live to see another day because he doesn’t thrive downfield.

Your tight ends are either out of shape or slow as molasses with butterfingers. (Bauman)

Daniel’s is an oozing possession receiver who scares no one.

Who’s the downfield threat, Marion? Dawson had two hands tied behind his back.

Would I have preferred Miami went tempo earlier? YES.

Would I have preferred that Miami went with more outside runs? YES

Is this loss on Dawson? Nope.

Miami gave IU 10 points with special teams crap. The last time I checked, Dawson isn't the special teams OC. Miami with just COMPETENT special teams wins this game. COMPETENT. The ST coach should be prepping his resume, because this kind of failure is unacceptable in any context.

Mario deserves heat for the missed fg.

He has done a bit better managing the clock this postseason. But, why run a wr screen on 3rd and 8 if you aren't going to go for it on 4th?

A 50 yard fg is a big ask for a college kicker, especially one who's kinda iffy.

Agree- we can hate on Dawson for the 1st half but Miami was still going to win that game with smart QB play at the end. Beck choked. It's harsh- I am not saying the kid deserves to be executed for it, but I can't sugarcoat what happened. Take the throw that is there and we are within 25 yards of the end zone with 40 seconds to go and the clock stopped after a 1st down.

Real talk we had one guy in the passing game. CJ Daniels could not consistently get separation and struggled 2nd half of the year. Marion is a returner who we used as a go to guy in a lot of key situations when defenses were keying in on Toney.

We need legitimate downfield threats in the passing game to open up the field for Toney. We did not even have reliable TE play this year.

The design on the Toney TD was there, and on the Fletcher TD with the fake pitch to Toney in motion.

Dawson’s fault is his lack of feel at times and inability to adjust early when things aren’t going his way. But after the first half, I have no complaints with the game he called
They were sitting in zone all 1st half which btw is how everybody knew Indiana would come out and play and we couldnt do ****.

1 throw over 15 yards in a whole half is not acceptable.

How did we not have any zone beaters ready from game prep? Why does it take you a whole half to run outside?

Some of these questions ppl have been asking all year.

Pl

Dawson did not get us here , I'm done with him, get the fvvk out of Miami dawson
What about last year when we had the best offense in the nation and the worst defense? Surely he dialed up the play calls! It was cause we had guys who could win their matchups, not only on the outside, but in the slot and TE! You doubled X, you had 6’4 Horton with speed and ol boy that had the 43 inch vertical and Orroyo and George. Yes Cam was all everything but he wouldn’t have the stats with this band of cast offs we had as skilled guys outside of Mali! They dropped the ball by not paying the suck tax for ballers at WR. Daniels gets no separation. Jojo can’t catch and they chose not to play number 3 vs their 5’7 corner. Plus noodle arm Beck throwing ducks and floaters with that loose arm. You never know what type of pass you might get from that thing

No our WRs not winning on the outside is what did it.
This. Special teams were brutal in this game and the outside corner injuries caught up to us in the second half, but the outside WRs have been the main problem on offense the entire year. Marion and CJ would have exemplary games, but we need more gamebreaking talent at those positions. By my count we had 10 drives in 4 playoff games that we ran an offensive play in + territory and got 0 total points. Some of that's having a FG kicker who couldn't make kicks anymore, some of it's playcalling, but mostly it's cause we couldn't win outside consistently. It's obvious the coaches realize it's a problem since they took 2 outside WRs in the portal.

So proud of this team and how they fought to the bitter end. Sucks we didn't win. We'll be back and we'll win next time.

Dawson calls plays like he using the “ask Madden” selection.

Why do we never run on 2nd and 8 even when we averaging 5 yards a carry?

These is just no cohension in his apporach.

He takes too many plays for granted.

That series I believe in the second quarter when we called 3 str8 pass plays was malpractice.

His playcalls and the play design are also lacking.

On the final INT that is a terrible throw by Beck to even try to make let alone crazy inaccurate.

But the play design (and call) vs cover 2 easily lead to it.

Wasn't perfect? The first half was an abomination!

This isn't a noon kickoff against Wake. It's the fuggin natty!

If Indiana comes out and beats you, fine. Tip your hat to them. That's not what happened.. The offense, specifically, looked like a Micky Mouse outfit in the first half. That was self inflicted.

The complete and total lack of ability to run tempo is maddening w/r/t Dawson.

Malachi Toney got a big first down and went out of bounds with 44 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter. We were down ten at that point. Dawson ran ONE PLAY in that 44 second span. He refuses to extend the game in any way.

Same with the final drive. Dawson slow played getting the play call and we got a delay of game to start the final drive. My goodness. He's calls plays like molasses.

I don’t hate the thought. But I think it’s clear his arm isn’t what you need for that pass. If you can get to the back pylon worst case you get third down.

Coming out of a TO, I would’ve preferred just getting the first down, but I can see his thought process.
