Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

In his presser, I thought it was interesting when Dawson said the A gap can move as the OL moves when blocking. I LMAO when he was giving Sperman a lesson in run schemes and continued to jab him throughout the presser.

Miami lost to Louisville because Carson Beck threw FOUR INTERCEPTIONS and couldn't accurately deliver the football even if he made the right read(which was rare). If you watch the film, he was making poor reads all night long, there were a ton of big plays on the table, but you had to be patient and take the check downs and intermediate stuff., It was the old GT strategy from last year, see if Beck could tolerate long marches and he didn't, hence why he was throwing up prayers.

Intelligent, competent people are tired of having to humor people that obviously don't know a **** thing, but swear they do. Dawson probably reached his limit and spoke accordingly. It was a dumb question, and he answered it in a way that answered the question while also showing what he thought of said question. Had the reporter asked more about formations and the like, I'm quite sure Dawson would have had a different answer, because that's an actual legit criticism.

"Hey Coach, last year, the formations utilized were more about creating space through alignment, this year, it's a lot more condensed. Do you believe that some of the difficulties in the run game are a result of the increased traffic and bodies?"
So if Beck was that off all night why did we keep doing it. And if LVille, like FSU was doing things to take away the inside run why wouldn’t we adjust and run to where they were soft? Plenty of teams have one aspect of their game plan taken away and go to plan B. A lot of those teams have a plan A, B, and C for running the ball and the same for passing it. We only seem to have plan A running and plan A throwing.

Mario took the worst job in FBS at FIU, and by the time he left, he took that program to multiple bowl games, and out of the 5 times that school has won 6 or more games in a single season, Mario had two of them by himself. His overall record is tainted by the FIU run, because they were so bad and success is almost impossible to maintain when you don't have any support.
That's what a I love about message board warriors. An unequivocal success is argued to be a failure because he went 27-47.

Mario did it the right way. He started at the bottom and learned the craft while achieving the quickest back-to-back bowl appearances for a start-up program.

Yet, it's considered a failure and he's considered a bad coach because of it.

It’s not really about where we are running its that we dress it up the same way majority of the time.

Also this oline has 2 above average run blockers, both on the right side, everyone else is mid. Last year we had 4 very good run blockers (rivers missed some time). So cut the top5 oline talk lol this is a very good pass blocking oline and a average at best run blocking oline

Also our RBs should start bouncing some runs outside, Martinez did it a bunch. Thats what dawson means when he says all of the runs aren’t designed to go up the middle, some of them are designed for the rb to find the right spot

Majority of dawsons offense is predicated on the players lol we should be honest about that part of this before we talk about Dawson

I don’t care what the calls are or aren’t. The fact of the matter is that opponents have figured out our offense because it’s too predictable. Just go man up over the center and both guards and dare Miami to do something besides run into a mass of humanity. I don’t care if it’s called “duo” or IZ or “belly” or whatever term you want to use. Until we find a way to punish teams for playing us with the bear front, we’re going to struggle.

I understand what our offense is and I don’t have a problem with running your 230 lb running backs between the tackles but you NEED to have something up your sleeve to counter what every team is going to do against us for the rest of the season. Stanford got worn down because their offense didn’t do anything and frankly, they suck. Good teams aren’t going to allow us to waste half a game offensively. It only took two first quarter touchdowns for Louisville to completely put us in a choke hold.

Which we've done successfully the vast majority of the time given that we're 6-1 and in the one loss we had the ball with a minute left in scoring position and turned it over on a pass.

Florida State is ahead of Indiana in both total offense and yards per play.

Maybe we should hope to be like them!
You looking at P4 total offense or will that affect your narrative too much? lol because we can throw out the directional Texas school and Kent state… starts looking pretty bad for them

Ah yes, the old “as long as we win the game, there’s no need to try to improve” mindset.

Louisville was the first team to deploy a majority of beat front defense against us with Stanford basically just copying them. Louisville has a really good defensive line and they were able to make Dawson look like an idiot. Stanford is the worst FBS team on our schedule. We’re going to play better teams than Stanford. Teams who are going to do the same thing’s Louisville did against us. Of our only counter is “just keep doing the same thing and hopefully they’ll get tired” I hope you’ve got your tickets booked for another Pop Tart Bowl.

Ah, yes, the old strawman argument.

We run what we run because it's what we *can* run and what we're *good* at running.

This isn't Madden. This isn't fantasy football.

Although I know that's probably you're only expertise in this field.

I mentioned Oklahomas Counter Trey with Lincoln Riley. It was precisely his answer to stop the Tite and Bear fronts that became the norm in that conference.

We've run sweeps and counters with this football team. The notion that we can't do it is complete BS from Dawson.

This isn’t pwe wee football where you run the same three plays because those are the only three plays your team can execute.

I agree that they ran it up against bad teams.

But just eyeballing it, if you removed those two games they'd still be 27th in total offense (without adjusting for anybody else). Which likely still makes them a top 25 team easily.

So still a "better" offense than ours. Maybe we should copy them!
