Only reason he played snaps as a freshman was for experience. He didn’t put on the weight to be a serious DE in a 3-4 in the SEC West. So yes, every 3 star kid coming in is going to jump him. He simply isn’t getting 3rd team reps NO MATTER WHAT.

He'll be a redshirt Freshman. Only played in 2 games this yr.

Plenty of upset LSU chatter......unlike others there seems to be no medical, personal or legal issues surrounding him. From what I just read on the LSU site, the guy plays in the other teams backfield and is going to be a BIG loss for them. And....and a freshman.

1. We don't have the room now or looking at a summer pickup as it takes one away from the loaded 2020 class.
2. We NEED an OL and quality LB next year. We don't NEED a DT.

Phillips is a DE/LB btw
