Diaz will be fired soon enough. I listen to nothing he has to say. He's a POS and nothing against him. I would rather cut my loses and start over with someone else. He has enough of a sample size for me to know this job is above his level. We will be mediocre and then he will be fired in 2022. Watch the cycle though, rinse, wash and repeat.
He's going to be here through 2022 like it or not. Cutting losses before 2022 isn't happening. Might as well say that Miami should try to hire away Dabo from Clemson. Both things are just as likely.
So someone can either look for practical solutions that might give him the best chance to be successful-- or at least build the strongest program for the next coach to inherit (an anti - Richt so to speak )- or not offer solutions because they have decided they want another coach and want to hasten his departure.
Personally as much as I think he or any Miami coach before him is probably doomed to failure, I'm still going to propose the best solutions I can that would give that HC the best chance at addressing the deficiencies.
I want Diaz to succeed just like I hoped Richt, Golden, and Shannon would have succeeded although right now I don't think he will. With each previous coach, there were some very obvious and easy solutions that could have led to vastly different results.
