David Njoku to LB?

Only question is whether he has the mental makeup for defense. Physically he's a specimen. I was really hoping for him to become that explosive TE we've been lacking. (which he still can be)

@David_Njoku80: Speed Tight End. I can dig it

D$ and I had been saying from the jump the coaches were going to put him at tight end, I think this is the right position for him

Before we start calling him a TE, let's see what number he's wearing at the scrimmage.

Njoku reminds me a lot of another out of state jumbo WR that converted to TE at the U, Kellen Winslow II. They both came in at 6’4” but Njoku is already 20lbs heavier than Winslow was as a true freshman and both ran in the 4.6-4.7 range out of high school. Winslow ran a 4.62 at the NFL combine and a 4.55 on Pro day, Njoku ran a 4.67 in July. They are both great athletes who played both ways in high school. If Njoku continues to develop physically, I can see him getting to 250-260 range while retaining his speed and athleticism. Here is a side by side comparison of the 2 great athletes.

I think both he and Kaya should come back one more year, dominate and go in the first round.

After seeing those numbers comparing he and Winslow its pretty simple..Stay another year and be a top 10-15 pick guaranteed. (barring injury and Kaaya needs to stay as well)

Leave this year and maybe sneak in the late 1st round if he pulls the "Mike Mamula" at the Pro Day and Combine but more then likely be a 2nd rounder. (cant blame him for leaving to get the money)

If he goes nuts in the bowl game like Winslow did in the 02' Natty game against OSU..forget it. He will probably announce in the post game interview that he is leaving to go pro. If he just does okay and Kaaya announces he is staying..we might have a shot.

Winslow had more catches in one year than Njoku has in his career. In fact, he almost did that twice.

They have him rated as the 5th best TE going into the draft....I have seen some analyst say 3rd round at best (disclaimer: I completely agree with these rankings)...

who leads in the amount of times shot by a sniper, k2 or njoku?

asking for a friend.

With his length and athleticism, Njoku could develop into an absolute nightmare coming off the edge. We just need to see if he was a motor and the toughness need to play that position.

Guys on here are always crying about the lack of athleticism on defense. so we infuse some major athleticism there, and guys are still drowning in tears. We've got 25 WRs and we're struggling for depth at LB. And dudes are weeping over taking a guy who wouldn't sniff the field at WR this year and trying to help the defense with him.

😂😂😂😂. Coach franchise

We have loads of depth at WR, and little at LB, due to some kids doing horribly stupid things. The kid is tall, athletic as heck, and can run. Like I said in another post, just because he played one position in high school doesn't mean it's the only one he can play, or even the best one for him. In high school a 6'4" fast guy creates a huge mismatch from the WR spot. In college that athleticism can be used in other areas. Remember, Warren Sapp was a TE coming in. Dan Morgan a FB. How did that turn out? High school coaches use guys where they feel they can help their team the best. College coaches, who are at a higher level for a reason, sometimes find other uses for them. I have absolutely no problem with a move like this.

He is going full Chuck Bednarik. He is going to play full time at TE and LB and long snap on special teams too.

There are not 4 college TEs with a higher NFL ceiling than Nojokeu. I doubt there is 1. He will be off the board long before the 3rd round. He's not coming back.
