David Hale (ESPN) just tweeted...

Op... This message board lives in fairy tale land ... Please dont post facts it will get you negged.... I have learned that facts that downgrade golden and the program are ok... Facts that support golden and the program ... Excuses will be mad

Who would you rather play, LSU or Marshall?

After Saturday we will have played the toughest schedule.

We better be the highest ranked 3 loss in the top 25.

it means that we have the second hardest schedule (by the numbers) in the NCAA. now people who hate golden and hate the program will make excuses as to why our opponents have such a high winning percentage, but regardless of how you feel on it, it’s still a pretty interesting statistic and would be pretty ignorant for people to ignore that but yet critique the team non stop
Not disputing the claim, but how can a team that plays in the ACC coastal division have the second hardest schedule? We've played one team in the top 15 AP poll...none in the top 15 playoff rankings.

Because we don't. That number is only based upon win-loss records of opponents. Somewhat silly really.

This stat is not true, as far as I can tell.

In other words, we do OK against mediocre teams, and we lose to good teams. I fail to see the importance of strength of schedule when you're losing to the better teams on your schedule every year anyway. When you're comparing two or more teams with good records, strength of schedule might actually mean something.

What the **** are you doing bringing facts to a golden slurp fest...

post anything positive - get negged

Never change, CIS.

This would be great info if we were 8-1 since it would give us a tiebreaker advantage to get us into the playoff. Instead, our corches were happy to play a passive defense that allowed Nebraska and GT to run the ball down our throats and leave us at 6-3.

No one cares a bad Arkansas and 6-3 Miami team have the toughest schedules in the country.

that Miami's opponent win percentage is .723, 2nd highest in the nation behind Arkansas.

What do I make of this?

You first have to realize that this team would have performed better in games against GT, NEB and LOU if they played aggressive defense. That said, I think you also embrace it as a legitimately difficult schedule...a fact that many here just refuse to admit because it goes against their blind hatred of Folden. You know it's possible to hate AND be smart about it too.

Why don't people understand this? It's not necessary to senselessly bash Golden for everything to say that he has underachieved or done a poor job this year or in prior years.

Yes he has been bad.

Yes we've played some solid competition.

No, I wouldn't say we've played the 2nd toughest schedule in the country.

Isn't it the goal to contribute to your opponents losing record instead of being happy that they have a high winning percentage?
If we were undefeated, their winning record would drop to 68%, does that make them worse teams?
So their high winning percentage means they are better teams and we are worse.

No one is anti-Golden with this news...they are just not happy having 3 losses. The goal is to be undefeated.

Beat FSU and win out and next year looks bright and this year will be chalked up to a transition year.
