2027 David Folorunsho 5* DT From Chicago, IL (St. Patrick HS)

I just ran into one of our former starting DL with a ring this morning at a tire store. It had been maybe 7 years since I saw him. I know him. Our program conversation was a lot more positive than the last several we have had over the years.
The staff did a great job getting us to where we are in this one. Illinois HS kids can get NIL in HS so if Folorunsho picks ND as expected, their will be no circling back.
This cycle is up and down. We have 3 - 5* commits. That is awesome for us. Miami has a 5* QB commit, that's unbelievable. The class is sitting well at the moment. Their has also been to many misses for where Miami sits now. We are like 1 for 9 the last 10 commits, but the 1 commit is a Top 10 player. That is awesome and not good at the same time. We don't have to talk in absolutes one way or the other. Both are true at the same time.

They are similarly hard to get. Before last season we were crying about how hard it was to get elite CBs and before that it was elite WRs. I remember.

Also the players they brought in to fix the secondary were not these 5 star players out high school. People were even questioning some of the pick ups. 2 of which got drafted.
One position, although I would strongly argue is of less importance(DT) is way more scarce.

LJ McCray
J Scott
David Stone
Dominick McKinley
Bryce Young

^ all five stars accordng to 247
Then...

Aydin Breland
Armondo Blount (could be considered Edge, but listed as DT on 247)
Nasir Johnson
Joseph Jonah-Ajonye
Kameryn Crawford
Charlie Collins
Jordan Thomas
Dealyn Evans
Will Echoles
Jericho Johnson
Brian Robinson

^ This completes the Top 100.

16 DTs in the top 100. That is an absurdly high number.
We ended up with 2 of the 16 and were in it for LJ McCray and David Stone.

This year's class - across the board - is nothing like 2024

I remember that year. People were swearing we were landing Stone, Breland, Franklin, Stewart, Rushing.

Well...bye.gif
