2027 David Folorunsho 5* DT From Chicago, IL (St. Patrick HS)

Was just remembering that David Stone recruitment. If we had landed him, we would have 3 of the top 10 returning DTs in cfb. Still have 2, which I believe is tied with Ole Miss. Hoping this one goes our way but kid is from Chicago and goes to a school named after the patron saint of Ireland. Not the cards we needed.

Georgia's best DL in the 2026 class was ranked the 106th best player according to rivals and Georgia currently has 0 DL in their 2027 class. Just imagine the meltdowns on this board if that was Miami's recruiting.
exactly and thats why their D line has fallen off massively
and their best player on the D line was a 5 start elite talent

so tell me who have we got to commit that is a top 50 DT since scott? even top 75?
Nah - I'm not looking to engage with you anymore on this. You missed what I was saying and this response proves everything I wrote. Stop trying to "win" the fight by picking out small trivial details. Instead, try a little self-reflection. It's good for ya.

However I will leave you with this. I just looked at ESPN's top 300 for this next class. I can't get 247 or Rivals to work because I don't pay for those sites. Knock ESPN all you want, but it's what I have to work with. They have THREE DT's in the top 50 in this years class, 5 in the top 75 and 7 in the top 100. Based on what you and a few others have written, your expectation is we land at least one of these (seven) guys each and every year. Wanting that to happen and expecting it are two different things.

If your first reaction is to tell me that ESPN's top 300 is a schitt list and therefore I'm a dunce, re-read the first paragraph.

There are maybe 3-5 elite DT each year and every major school wants them. It is a very tough position to get a whale let alone one every cycle.
exactly and since we missed the last two cycles its was important to land one this time

not every year but for an elite recruiter who wants to build the trentches at least every other year maybe every 3 years
thats how clemson had their run they kept stacking once they couldnt do that they fell off as well

Which is what DMoney said on the pod this morning. But say that here and for some reason its super controversial.
I think most of the pushback was due to one particular poster making a blanket statement that Miami only gets the stray occasional 5 star, the goalposts were then shifted toward DT recruiting being not good enough. Which is certainly a debatable topic.

Exactly and goes to show if Georgia can't even land these guys why do we think it should be so easy for Miami to get who they want? 5 star DT don't go under the radar. They are going to get offered the moon. Just look at brewster this year. This kid is probably being offered whatever he wants. It's a tough position to pull

Point taken but Clemson had a first rd DL this year.

See this is what I dont understand, people mad at a fair take. Bunch of goofy **** on both sides. I am always calling things how I see them even if I believe in Mario, if there is a fair take that criticizes him then its fair. How could anyone get mad at that?
I agree we’re not landing the elite of the elite interior d linemen since Scott like all of us wish we were.

But we have to give the staff credit that they are throwing numbers at the position with legit body types. If you can’t land the big dogs that’s what you have to do and we’re doing that. **** good chance another Moten esque talent rises because of the numbers we’re throwing at the position with most importantly the proper frames and traits
Yea I wish we landed the high end but I trust the will find something. The staff already proved they can build a roster, and at the same time people have a valid reason to be worried down the line. Both things can be true

LOL keyboard tough guy. Probably a boomer.

Nobody is saying the CURRENT defensive line isn’t elite. It is. And that’s in large part due to the elite level of recruiting in the 2024 class with three 5 stars. The point is that the recruiting on the dline, especially DT, hasn’t been at that level over the last two cycles (and currently this cycle).

If we have the type of season we all expect this year, realistically two of Scott, Lightfoot and Blount are probably gone to the NFL. So project out to the 2027 and 2028 seasons and we’re missing those elite talents that we’re going to rely on this year. This isn’t a position that contributes year 1 so this year’s class is for 2+ years down the line. Again, if you don’t believe me, listen to DMoney on this morning’s pod. He and Pete made exactly this point.
You told me to **** off then called me a Boomer. I am not a Boomer. I'm also not a disrespectful millennial.

I understand exactly what you're saying regarding 2-3 years down the road. I too would like all the five stars and high four stars. I also trust that A) that's not realistic to EXPECT that, B) this staff has proven they can and do develop DTs and C) this schitt ain't over yet. If you listened to the pod this am, you also (should have) heard that Stancil was just outside the top 100 last year. Jarquez Carter is a top 200 guy (HS ranking).

Do you know who will be the best out of Bacon, Nagle, Chukwara, Keona Davis, Carter, and Stancil? Do you watch them practice? Lift weights? Watch tape? I do not. I assume you also do not. We need 3 of those guys to hit to be fine. I trust we will be. It's that simple.

If you're going to reply with another insult, at least make it funny.

Was a wrap when the kid was taken back to ND by his coach, principal, and AD, who are all ND grads I believe 😂. They aren’t letting that poor kid go somewhere else, even if he wants to.
A group of high level administrators associated with the Catholic Church forcing a young man to do something against his will.

Surprise, surprise.

100%. The melodrama from some folks on this board, paired with low expectations so they never feel “disappointed”, isn’t fooling anyone. Mario, D$, and anyone who actually follows CFB know that consistently landing top‑50 DL talent is what keeps programs competitive and dangerous. We haven’t been doing that lately, and it’s going to cost us if we don’t fix it.

and why do you suppose Clemson "fell off"? Do you think it just happens to be chance that it coincides exactly with the timeline for Georgia and Alabama falling off?

Hint: NIL allowed EVERYONE to pay their players.

PS. Build the trenches at least every other year, maybe 3 years coincides EXACTLY with what we've done.

Who is he? Did he play football for ND?
yes n basically after football nfl career he was down bad on the brink of committing that....n his nd connections an hs connections basically showed him his purpose....so the hc a former captain, nd fanatic, who probably think they saved his life will for sure push any kid that is that good to his alma mater

no it wouldnt because at the end of the day...if their are hs misses we are portal gawds...which can always supplement dt play with certified grown men which we have been doing
