2027 David Folorunsho 5* DT From Chicago, IL (St. Patrick HS)

A few schools are emerging in the recruitment of Chicago (Ill.) St. Patrick blue-chipper and Rivals No. 2 ranked defensive lineman David Folorunsho.

The buzz around Texas Tech is really picking up. Folorunsho was in Lubbock a couple weekends ago and the experience around the Red Raiders program was terrific and the dialogue continues to pick up for the ballyhooed point of attack player.

“I really liked the people at Texas Tech University,” Folorunsho stated. “Met Coach McGuire and everyone spoke highly of him. There’s been a lot of growth in the program and I’m very excited for the opportunity to be part of it. Also got the chance to see Coach J (Imarjaye Albury Sr.) in action and was really impressed with his attention to detail.

“The hype is real! They are definitely up there for me and this visit made them move up on my list.”

A source added regarding Texas Tech, “they’re going to be tough to beat.”

Miami is certainly major player for Folorunsho.

Mario Cristobal and his program have made a big impression on Folorunsho as well. A source close to Folorunsho says the Hurricanes have been making a big move since offering.

Folorunsho has been speaking highly of the Hurricanes.

“Miami is D-Line U. I love the style of football they play. Real aggressive and that’s huge for me. Just the relationship I have with Coach (Mario) Cristobal and knowing that’s where great D-linemen are bred.”

Notre Dame gets Folorunsho back this weekend for the spring game. Their are a few former players including his head coach Tom Zbikowski connected to the St. Patrick program and his trainer Kerry Neal also played at ND. Marcus Freeman and the Irish will be excited to try and gain back some momentum this weekend.

“Notre Dame is definitely a huge one on my board. When I went there it felt like it was so exclusive. Everybody can’t do what Notre Dame guys can do. If you play college football at Notre Dame that’s special. I’m just around Notre Dame guys. I train with Notre Dame guys. I once trained with Rylie Mills. That was huge for me too. I didn’t know who he was but I realized once we did a couple drills this dude is something serious.”

I’m also hearing Folorunsho could visit Miami this weekend.

If he doesn’t visit this weekend it’s a wrap. That being said, given that Texas Tech just offered him a month ago, I feel like we can still win this one as ND is mostly relying upon sentimentality and not actually favoritism from him.

He was supposed to visit Miami the end of march then he was supposed to visit on 4/16. He was able to make his way to Georgia and TT when they weren’t even in his top 5. So i hope the staff moves on if he doesn’t visit unofficially this week.

Visiting Thursday prior to going to ND for their spring game.

Lightfoot and Scott should not leave his side. **** bring Abrams down too.
I know you're a Chicago dude, so please allow me to ask why is it supposed to be so much harder to pull this kid and Parks than it was to get JS from Ignatius? I know Tommy Z is his HC and ND is the traditional college squad of Chicagoland, but I figure that a Chicago parochial school is a Chicago parochial school. But I'm also not from the Chi, so enlighten me, brother...

Couple things of note here:
  • Ignatius while Catholic is viewed as an elite academic school where they pull kids from all over. Because of this the overall vibe of the school isnt as rooted in a strict Catholic or nothing mentality.
  • Rice on the other hand while still a great academic school isnt on that same level and is deeply rooted with the Southside Catholics. The faculty are Catholic through and through. They worship the ground that ND walks on.
Of course that doesnt mean we cant pull these kids to Miami. Mario and how he carries himself will go over very well with that school and its ultimately that kid's choice but the faculty looks upon an ND scholly like something handed down by Jesus Christ himself.

I'll never understand why people from around here have a hard on for ND. They haven't won **** since 1988. Just a bunch of old ***** reliving their glory days and brainwashing their kids and grandkids. That's pretty much the best way I could put it. Chicago has never really been a hotbed for D1 talent especially at the P4 schools so this is new territory for me.

I knew Lightfoot was going to be a player coming in for Miami since he's from a CPS school and those guys play with extra intensity. Scott I wasn't high on to begin with. Sources from the area told me he was soft and got bullied by undersized OL. But that has been put to rest with the year he had in 2025.

One school Mario needs to key in on is Mt Carmel. Jordan Lynch is their HC and he's a former Heisman finalist at NIU. These guys and East St Louis are the two best schools in the state and pump out dudes every year.

I went to Rice and I hated my time there. Bunch of stuck up pricks who think they are hot ****. All my close friends went to other area Catholic schools like Mt Carmel and St Rita. But yea Rice is 100% Notre Dame ****riders.
