A few schools are emerging in the recruitment of Chicago (Ill.) St. Patrick blue-chipper and Rivals No. 2 ranked defensive lineman David Folorunsho.
The buzz around Texas Tech is really picking up. Folorunsho was in Lubbock a couple weekends ago and the experience around the Red Raiders program was terrific and the dialogue continues to pick up for the ballyhooed point of attack player.
“I really liked the people at Texas Tech University,” Folorunsho stated. “Met Coach McGuire and everyone spoke highly of him. There’s been a lot of growth in the program and I’m very excited for the opportunity to be part of it. Also got the chance to see Coach J (Imarjaye Albury Sr.) in action and was really impressed with his attention to detail.
“The hype is real! They are definitely up there for me and this visit made them move up on my list.”
A source added regarding Texas Tech, “they’re going to be tough to beat.”
Miami is certainly major player for Folorunsho.
Mario Cristobal and his program have made a big impression on Folorunsho as well. A source close to Folorunsho says the Hurricanes have been making a big move since offering.
Folorunsho has been speaking highly of the Hurricanes.
“Miami is D-Line U. I love the style of football they play. Real aggressive and that’s huge for me. Just the relationship I have with Coach (Mario) Cristobal and knowing that’s where great D-linemen are bred.”
Notre Dame gets Folorunsho back this weekend for the spring game. Their are a few former players including his head coach Tom Zbikowski connected to the St. Patrick program and his trainer Kerry Neal also played at ND. Marcus Freeman and the Irish will be excited to try and gain back some momentum this weekend.
“Notre Dame is definitely a huge one on my board. When I went there it felt like it was so exclusive. Everybody can’t do what Notre Dame guys can do. If you play college football at Notre Dame that’s special. I’m just around Notre Dame guys. I train with Notre Dame guys. I once trained with Rylie Mills. That was huge for me too. I didn’t know who he was but I realized once we did a couple drills this dude is something serious.”
I’m also hearing Folorunsho could visit Miami this weekend.
