But not in the way our ruling class elites do

Ok, slept on this one. Far from a done deal. The unhappy parents & family knew exactly what was going on. This is about NIL money. Very close family with very involved parents. Their displeasure was telling the college football world that Ohio State isn’t a done deal & come impress us. Believe Miami might be the #2 choice, though real crown is UGA. Family lives an hour from campus & dad played for the Dawgs. To this point, Kirby has opted not to open the bank for HS NIL deals. Family’s hope is Kirby eventually will pay for an elite local talent with deep Dawg ties.
Let’s say the parents want Uga or Miami. They’re really ****ed because now you’ve effectively bid against yourself. Uga wouldn’t budge on the number and then you pull a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute and now you want them to bid against OSU? Kirby won’t like that either

Im getting old

I used to get upset at this stuff but now im just annoyed at what this has become

This child doesnt seem to know where he wants to go and that usually means he doesn't amount to his potential

More 5 stars bust than produce so whatever but man, act liike a mature adult and don't call the stupid self interest presser until you know for sure what you want to do

Reading the quotes from the commit interview.. it seems like the biggest bag will win and felt some recruiting diva vibes..

I almost wanna say good luck and tell Jit to kick rocks. But I remember Blount’s recruitment a few years back and just that these are really young kids..

I hope I’m dead wrong and would love to eat crow. Wednesdays outcome doesn’t mean I’m wrong when you look at their recruiting classes and NFL prospects. It’s simply at a different level. Nothing wrong with pointing the obvious. Tonight, was an example why, unfortunately.
Would you take their Dline over ours?

Would you take their Oline over ours?

Those are the two most important units on the football field n we have the edge in both, yeah they can still come out on top Wednesday but you acting like we some type of cupcake compared to them my guy smh.

Again, this is a parent issue. My son gives a commitment, it sticks. If we’re going to entertain other offers, then we don’t commit and we’re up front about that. No agent is getting in the way of that or running the show.
Absolutely. Parents these days want to be friends first instead of being parents first. Result is broken down morales and lack of integrity. It’s ineffective patenting for this kid and his parents if this kid actually told our coaches one thing and then does something else.

it probably felt that way for OSU in the Natty vs us, we had the better roster but up front they had dogs and matched us at the LOS. We can do the same to them, its not an unwinnable game bruh. Would it shock me if OSU won? NO..............but it wouldn't surprise me if we won.
Lesser talented teams win games all the time. Coaching can overcome that. I have zero faith in Dawson but I hope I’m wrong.

My point was more about OSU’s consistency at recruiting top recruiting classes than we do and pulling these 5 stars. You need to reach top 5 level blue chips to be a contender consistently. We aren’t doing that.

I dont believe that. I think they had it that he was going to Miami. This one aint done. It actually reminds me of the Scott recruitment in some way. I doubt the suckeyes are resting easy.

Family definitely knew the deal & no surprise. Very close knit group & young man isn’t making decisions in a vacuum. Agreed that it is far from done.

Then Indiana and Cignetti are screwed.

They absolutely knew what was going on all day; Tom Loy mentioned in his post that he had spoken to them early afternoon and THEY told him the kid wasn't sure what he was doing. That doesn't mean they agreed with what happened. I think it's pretty clear they didn't. Now, could that be embarrassment or guilt because of the way it was handled? Possibly. But I think from watching that a few times they also didn't agree with the decision. The brother was grinning but that's it...

The fact the kid talked to OSU all day and didn't reach out to miami tells you everything you need to know. If it was all about the money and he wanted to be a Cane, he had plenty of time to see if Miami would match. That makes me think he wanted something different all along... IDK about the UGA aspect. They didn't seem to think they were in it at all recently.

I kind of think Dawson had to be told chill out on the trick plays let’s try and slow pace and see what works. Then if we can’t move save those bullets in the chamber. My concern is our center being pushed back cause he lacks power, and also if Beck can identify the coverages, see the open window and throw with anticipation. You throw late on these guys you in trouble. Someone else in the wr room has to get separation.

our center is not that good. how he got an all American team and Bryce didnt make Freshman AA is beyond me.

I agree. if you watch the former players on sidelines they were like just run the ball with Fletcher.

OSU is loaded every where. Tonight is a great example why. Miami needs to get on the same page and load up on blue chippers instead of taking so many 3 stars that are reaches.
We have arguably the best freshman in the country on both sides of the ball. Bryce was a kid no one on here aside from @coachmacho and a few others wanted and he lead the nation in INT's. Toney is the best freshman in the country. We had the ACC rookie of the year 3 years in a row. come on lol
