2027 David "DJ" Jacobs 5* DE from Roswell, GA (Blessed Trinity Catholic) Commits to OSU 2.0

That’s unfortunate. I think it’s a lock that he will go to the Michigan-Ohio State game. I hate both those teams but if someone invited me to the game, I might go just for the spectacle. If you believe the chance of flipping him depends on whether or not he goes to the Michigan OSU game, I’d say we’re out of luck.

From what I have read here it looks like he backed out on his commitment to the staff, told them he was going to pick UM and then surprised everyone with the last second pick of OSU. Might explain why his parents didn’t seem particularly pleased. He’s certainly talented but if I am a HC or DL coach, that’s not a good impression to make.

wouldn’t be a bad consolation prize to take that money and see if Ghioto would reclass to 2027.
It’s much less about whether or not he goes to the big game; and more so about the sequencing of events. With early signing day, he will be signing the following week. He’d have visited UGA, Tennessee, OSU x2 and Miami in the previous fall months; according to his plan.

If he has doubts about a place he’s been committed to for over a year, after visiting the school 4x times in the same year already, going to that game isn’t the logical move for a recruit who is about to flip his commitment.

I doubt we’ll have to wait that long for clarity regardless. Most blue-chippers flip by early November now or signal as much anyways i.e. everyone knew Jared Curtis was flipping a month before he did just that. Signing Day surprises are rarer and rarer.

We have a ton of de too . Picket , Charles , Bryant ….. ?

Ehhh not really, plus I'm not sure Lafayette will ever play with his hands down (I may be wrong)

Let's assume everyone stays (Scott, Lightfoot, Blount…I would think Scott is the biggest ? to go)

Blount (answering questions quite emphatically about staying outside)
Lightfoot
Pickett
Charles
Lafayette
Scroggins
Bryant
Dawson (outside chance plays backer, but let's keep him here for this convo, probably a guy that can be used stand up and moved around like Lightfoot)

Scott
Carter
Newton
K.Davis (Can play DE)
Nagle
Chuku
Johnson
Ayangbile
Bacon (maybe a Davis/Blount type, but likely DT)
Sainteus
Stancil
Jenkins

Numbers heavily skewed to DT. Even if 1-2 backup DT hit early portal.

Ryan Day is staring down his first three loss season.

Larry Johnson retirement talk heating up (per me). Need bob chesney to flip Brady Edmunds for extra chaos.

And just like in Hold’Em, beware of the new shooter on the turn.

I was waiting for this to happen. They where never just going to let this dude walk from the state when their pass rush is complete *** pendeckers
This I could see happening

They probably wont land him though, I feel like its OSU no matter what happened at Texas. We have a chance though, but who the **** knows. Anything can happen but I think he sticks with OSU

I don’t think they can afford him, but it’s still going to be tough to get him out of there.

They can decide, **** it, this is the guy we need to pay.

Lafayette was always going to be a situational pass rusher here.

Pickett is the one who I don’t see ever making an impact. He is in what Year 3 and was already passed by 3 younger guys (Blount, Scroggins and Lowe). Also when was the last guy we had that suddenly finally made the jump In Year 4?
