Darian Mensah comparison

Arm Strength has to be the most overrated trait in a QB. It is what makes NFL teams draft bums like Anthony Richardson and Jamarcus Russell. As long as a QB can make all the throws that's good enough. Mensah can make all the throws.

Accuracy and pocket presence are what makes a QB elite. You can't teach that. Thus, it makes sense to compare Mensah to Joe Burrow.

What I especially love, is if you watch Mensah, he puts the ball in a position where the receiver maintains their forward momentum.

He’s fast too , he needs to use his legs some when it matters . Famu he took off when everyone was covered he got 15 yards down the field like Cam use to before be he even got touched going out bounds

Hopefully we win the Natty, he wins the Heisman, and he realizes that he'll be the 4th or 5th QB in the draft and we can pay him $7.5M a year to stay and run it back. Then bridge to the winner of the QB competition between Abrams and Cypher after back to back titles and Heisman's

Brooks Austin, The Film Guy, does breakdowns of different positions but mostly of linemen and QB's. He makes a distinction between arm strength and arm talent with which I agree. The former is the guys you cited. The latter is ability to layer the ball or hit the hole shot on a rail route. Give me a guy who can make all the throws, not the guy who can throw it 80 yards but lacks touch and accuracy.

I was just about to say the same thing. The same people that gush about elite athletic traits like arm strength or 40 yard dash or a QB's size or vertical jump, are the dummies that pick Anthony Richardson top 5.
