Dana White repping

Let us accept the fact that Dana White is not a good person. But he is rich and it behooves UM athletics to take his money. But that money does nothing to improve his character.
So let us celebrate him giving money, while not celebrating the person behind the money. Both things can be true.

Just look at the Saudi royal family. They kill journalists, but they pay their athletes well.
Is his wife also not a good person?

This is not how domestic violence works. What you saw was a public display of people who have previously engaged in violent conduct towards each other in private. They both should have been charged with assault. But the actions of one do not justify the other. Your mom’s advice is appropriate for women because they are much more likely to be seriously injured in a violent confrontation with a man. But that same advice should not be given to a man whereby he now thinks that hitting a woman can be justified if she puts her hands on you.

I prosecuted the cases for years. People who act like White, and his wife, have a much bigger problem. And being drunk is no excuse.

I know you are trying to take a reasoned approach but what you are missing is that this is not an isolated event. This is the only event you witnessed between them.
Def not the first time.

I’m sincerely glad you raised this issue because it seems like it’s easily forgotten by people whose eyes are glazed over by celebrity.
We can appreciate what he’s doing for UM without forgetting what he did to his wife; in public view, which likely means its happened before in private.
Slippery slope for sure.

Odd how one person's actions/words are villified while another's are conveniently overlooked.

Glass houses have fragile roofs.

Was he suspended, fined, placed on administrative leave or lose any endorsemens? Your other point has nothing to do with my post.
He who has the gold makes the rules.

That in no way defends him hitting a woman (even though video shows he was struck first).

He owns UFC. Like it or not, owners get allowances in their own workplace that employees, at times, aren't afforded.

That's life.

The consuming public could have walked away from UFC as a product, but I believe the popularity and revenue has increased since that fateful moment.

Again, awful that a couple got to the point of violence in their relationship...tragic, but life just has certain operating parameters.

🤷‍♂️

I'd rather not do mental aerobics. He is a piece of **** and that is my final stance.

Any grown adult puts their hands on you.... it is definitely justifiable to hit them back. I don't give a **** what y'all say.

From a purely legal standpoint, a person can defend themselves in a “like-kind manner” which basically means they can respond in kind to the violence used against them. So slap=slap, punch=punch. And any threat of death can be responded to equally. so if someone comes at you with a knife, you can shoot them as both weapons could cause death.

But you know there are often factors beyond this in a domestic situation because there is almost always history. It’s not the exact same thing as someone hits you at the bar and you hit them back.
