Dan Quinn Cowboys DC

Exactly
Let’s refresh this after tomorrow when Herbert and the Chargers roll up 500 yards and 38 points

Cowboys and Canes suck
And it sucks to have to endure this **** year in year out
All things considered he held them in check with a banged up defense. And he used Parsons in a role that parsons himself said he hasn’t done as much since High School. I’m not saying he’s the answer but I think it’s worth a call. If we know one thing it’s not just to pick the first person who says yes.

I am open to coaches who have had significant NFL experiences. You cannot judge a coach on just his win loss record in the NFL or Saban would be just average. We need someone who demands instant respect and who is dogged on fundamentals, as well as takes no crap from the players. There is a reason, Mark Richt, who was a average coach was able to win 9 and 10 games in his first 2 years. He had significant HC experience and respect. He was burnt out and put together a mediocre staff which ended the tenure in failure. But he got instant respect from Golden players. We need similar but someone who will bring a better staff from top to bottom. No more Jon Richts etc.

What about Jay Gruden? He coached for a long time in the nfl. Once upon a time his brother was supposed to be our coach and after a few years hand it off to Jay. I wouldnt be opposed to that option.

I tend to agree with Cowherd's sentiment about 'going big and get an NFL guy'. I think it would need to be someone with major college experience of some kind, so they understand recruiting. Or at least have staff with some recruiting dawgs. No idea who though.

Posters here talk up Joe Brady, but he was at LSU one season, had a 'franchise QB' and multiple elite receivers. None of whom he recruited. None of which he has at Miami, as far as we know. Yes, he coached them up as a playcaller, but I'm not sure he's someone I'd give the program to. I'm not a believer in gurus with magic playbooks. I want to see a plan for staffing and administrative infrastructure.

The above presumes Mario cannot be presuaded to return home.

Idk tbh but not quinn. I would look at kiffin, mario, fickell, napier, freeze(highly doubtful). If you looking at nfl guys I would say bieniemy chiefs oc, daboll bills oc and was at bama, joe brady.
Yes to Bieniemy, Daboll and Quinn

But Bieniemy is going to USC

Outside the box but I’d be intrigued. He would probably bring a helluva staff and I think he’d have some cred with his history going into these kids homes recruiting having coached the LOB and played in the SB. Coached at UF for a couple years in 11-12, so he isn’t completely green to the college landscape.

Would be down the list but now the worst idea I’ve heard. All moot because the Cowboys are winning their division and going to playoffs and no one is getting fired lol.

I don’t think really anything to do with the Cowboys. I would have taken him right after Atlanta. But a big point you mention is that he actually did a few years in CFB and more importantly at UF.

My wife is a long suffering Falcons fan, there is no way after watching the Falcons blow a 25 point lead late in 3rd quarter in the Super Bowl, and not come away scarred.
Sorry, but I will have to pass on Mr.Quinn.

The Falcons continue to blow leads regardless of the coach

He is my first choice from the NFL side of the ball followed by Brady, then Doug Peterson & then O’Brien.

He would be a home run hire..
How? Since 2000, Quinn has spent a total of 1 year coaching in college football.

Could he be good? I guess but he's got little to no recruiting experience over the last 20 years. Not sure how this would be a home run hire.
