Dan Mullen smoking the good stuff

Do football fans who use the word flagship understand what it means apart from some vague sense that it sounds like a compliment? Typically it's just the oldest public university in a state - the one with "University of" in front of the name. Of course that says nothing by itself about the desirability of it. Does anyone really think UMass outranks Harvard because it's a "flagship"?

Quit making sense, it isn't allowed on this board.

Coaches say dumb stuff all the time. It is part of their job. He's gotta talk up his school just like every other coach. Pretty petty conversation here.

Flagship in the fact they ran off two HOF coaches, and at least 2 QB's that will have a good career in the NFL.

Oh, and they covered up for murder. Because he was a TE.

Dont we play in '19? They could draw names out of a phone book for their QB, and they still, as of now, have a advantage there.

Have you lost your mind?

“As of now” their QB choices were so good they were bowl ineligible and only won 4 games.

I’ll take our QB situation a thousand times out of a thousand times over theirs, and that’s without orange and green glasses, Anybody that’s objective that knows even a little football would say the same. You must be so angry and bitter towards your own team, you’ve become delusional.

****, even the idiots with orange and blue glasses would take our QB room over theirs.

Just worried that Mullen might not need 3 or 4 years before coming up with a D-1 level QB. In all fairness, CMR is going into year three, and nobody can say with a straight face we will have a QB in '18, or '19 (If Rosier starts in '18, it means we start a freshman and/or proven bust in '19)

I was hoping that you were joking when you originally indicated that their QB situation was better than ours. However, I see that you have doubled down on that stance. You may very well be the only person in the world with that mindset. Unfortunately, by way of living here in Jacksonville, I am surrounded by Gaytor fans. I don't one of them, who would agree with your take on the subject at hand.

Mullen is the Q.B. Whisperer and he has a former 5 star as the starter.

LMFAO how is Mullen the QB whisperer? Because he got lucky and struck gold on a few very talented underrated 3 stars? I could have turned those guys into elite college QBs. And his former 5 star is the exact opposite of that type. He is a 5 star that should be a 2*.

Most schools only saw Dak as a TE. He molded him into one of the best QBs in the NFL. He’s always been able to do more with less. I also hate the gators but this was a **** solid hire.

So would you consider Nick Petrino the all time great QB whisperer for turning Lamar Jackson the all purpose back prospect into a QB. Maybe that title belongs to Sterlin Gilbert for picking Quinton Flowers as a QB when everyone else wanted him as a RB. I also think it was a great hire for Florida. The guy ended up with a top 15 class even in his transition year when Miami dominated the state during the season, but I disagree that he is a QB whisperer.

I’d say more so Bobby than Nick. He’s always been able develop QBs and an elite offense. I see him as the mastermind behind all the madness.
