My reservation with a guy like him isn't his experience or even going to FSU. It is the way that our AD's business model is so diametrically opposite to Alabama's, I am not sure the lessons learned there would apply here. They for sure have the big, old money boosters, but they rely on the size of their alumni network donating small amounts in volume. Miami needs to engage more alumni, but by nature it will always be a school that relies on large sums from fewer donors. I would prefer him over some other names (Toretta and whoever Le Batard is pushing), but he would not be my top choice over some others that have had to do more with less and have actually run a department.
