I'd say better Nutrition and training table. Miami's players always seem to look smaller compared to bigger programs where football is taken more seriously.
 
$20-30 Million doesn't sound like that much when Mich State seems willing to pay Mel Tucker almost $100M over 10 years. And Mel really has a fairly unimpressive resume except for this year.

People don’t realize healthcare is one of the more difficult and hostile environments when it comes to colleague relationships.

If it's 20-30M recurring, it's a significant % increase from our presumed previous operating budgets. Question is whether or not it's recurring or a one-time cash infusion from which we expect to produce self-sustaining revenue.

Astute observation. I was placing both enterprises under the UHealth banner for brevity. 99% of the layman associate Jackson with Miami and vice versa.

They have hundreds of MOAs that make both entities, at least from an in-patient/surgical perspective, unseverable. Could they survive without each other? Kinda sorta, not really. The co-dependency amongst pick-a-product-line is essentially what makes them one in the same. Also, DoD (Army mainly) has an important presence in Trauma with both Jackson and UHealth to maintain proficiency and medical readiness (AF uses Baltimore Shock and Navy uses Tulane Trauma... I digress).

Also, most UHealth outpatient refers specialty care to Jackson campus, in turn, in-patient admissions go from UHealth to Jackson. Then for rehab stints, Jackson releases back to UHealth because its all one giant campus with the outpatient feeder clinics extending their reach farther and farther afield.

Its brilliant actually.

Yes, Baptist pursuing a Trauma Center (I heard it was going to start as Level III) is laughable and the Certificate of Need was denied rightly so.

They would know a thing or two about not having money. After all, their Athletic Department was broke at one point.

One last point, technically most of the University research product lines are legally distinct entities from mother UHealth. They even have different TJC criteria (mostly). Like a stadium, they could be renamed and reaffiliated with a new suitor. Let's face it, not gonna happen, but it is a technical deliantion.

If you knew anything about RVUs, RWPs, standard of care liabilities, HHS audits, etc... etc...etc...and how they all roll up into one giant shït burrito of the often adversarial relationship between faciliites (you don't even know what that means) and the various physician groups (don't get me started on hospitalists), $1B is kinda not enough for an integrated medical campus of that size.
