Cover 3 and he had the deep 3rd and he sat in the flat with no WR in the area. OJ was the the bust on the play.
That was absolutely not cover 3. It might have looked like it pre-snap, but Poyser had the hash (1/2) on that coverage. OJ had the flat.

If you want to break down his reps for minuses, that’s fine, but that rep wasn’t one of them. Go back and look at the tape, and check out kyle hayes’ breakdown as well

Xavier Lucas is the most physical capable corner we have on JJ (with bracket coverage)

OJ on Tate and hope we get to sayin

the reality is we're playing the best WR in the country and the other WR is going to be a first round pick. can't expect our corners to shut that down, just limit the disastrous plays and broken coverages

Lucas and Bryce on JJ may even result in interceptions if the DL pressure rate stays high.

Backup your statement with stats, not feelings. And Texas A&M, they didn't target him, not one time. And he played the most snaps the last drive. They looked his way one time and it was a cover sack. Show me the DB that's better with statistics, not feelings. Go watch film so your response would sound more intelligent.

Good to see you on here, oj.

Let me teach you how to break down defense: they were in cover two, OJ had the flats, Scott had hook or curl. You notice the only player close to Mario was the safety.
I don’t recall anyone threatening the flats on that play, especially not the #2 receiver. Could be wrong but if no one threatens his zone he should sink with the #1 until someone threatens his zone. Looks like he stood still and watched the play blow past him

I have to go back and watch the play, but even if OJ thought it was cover 2, most corners are taught to sink underneath the #1 receiver if they go vertical until someone else threatens them in the flat.

And even then, they should react to a “break read” from the QB instead of jumping it right away. You first priority is to maintain outside leverage and funnel that #1 WR inside so it’s easier for the safety to get over the top if they go vertical.

With that said, I have no idea what the call was. Sounds like multiple guys screwed up — not just OJ.

I seriously don’t understand why we think our 4th best corner should be put on arguably the best wr in the country.

Cause of a high school game? Are we serious?

He not the 4th best. Until proven otherwise oj 4th this season at least(not even including Keionte who’s a nickel)

You’re out of your mind. And I wasn’t including nickels but damari would be 5th then
