I don't expect us to do much differently than we have all season defending the pass. We aren't going to play press man all game long. There will be WRs open, either from soft cushions outside the hashes or down the field against our zones. We just have to tackle in space, and ideally not have any coverage busts deep. Live to fight another play.
Our best defense against Smith and Co is our pass rush. If we can harass and get to Sayin consistently with 4 or 5 rushers, then we've got a shot. If he has time, he's probably going to pick us apart since he's the most accurate QB in the country. They get in the redzone, we need to hold them to FGA or turn them over, as we have been doing a lot over the last 5 games.
Maybe Hetherman dusts off the bracket with Jakobe Thomas he showed against Deuce Robinson along the sideline, but they move Smith around so much not sure that's going to work great.
