DAILY DEBATE: Who is the better player, Xavier Restrepo or Roscoe Parrish?

This one is out of left field, but somebody asked me this on the Canes Connection call yesterday and I thought it was interesting. Who do you got?

This is going to come down to people’s perception of “electric” versus “production.”

Roscoe was more of a flanker with rushing being a big part of his game, guy could do everything. X is a pure slot receiver and is a great at it.

I’ll go Roscoe as a pure football player due to his versatility and X as strictly a receiver

Different game.. Roscoe came up in pro style bro "era/error" Numbers wont do justice.. Just KNOW.. He was that DUDE.. Played against him, seen him put team on back and beat the west in playoffs..

I can’t think of Roscoe without thinking about how close he was to busting that return in the Fiasco Bowl. Needed one more block.

Parrish.

While X is and will be an asset to any team, great slot receivers are not THAT rare.

However, we really have not seen a return man/athlete like Parrish or Hester in a long time. I'm not really sure if anyone to name in a Canes uniform as of late comes close. Jeff thomas maybe? But he never really lived up to the hype

Roscoe was definitely the more explosive player. D'Angelo Hall snatched his chain at VT in 2003 though.

It’s a different era, so X’s #’s r going to be inflated, but Parrish fa sho.

Roscoe was fast as ****, which is not something X will be able to match.

X has a ways to go, but he has time to eclipse Parrish. Will have to see what happens in The League as well.

After watching the 2 highlights of Parrish it's not even close Passhish by a mile!! Sometimes we forget how great past players really were.

X LAST YEAR ALONE: 85-1092-6.

I think X is likely the better overall football player. Roscoe was more electric and was fun as **** to watch, but he was a little gimmicky because of his size. I still remember seeing him in Dadeland when he got drafted by the Bills and I was stunned at how small and thin he was. Dude must have had some cojones because he had to be the smallest guy on the field at all times. He was one of my favorites growing up.

I think Restrepo is more important to this team. Talent wise, it's Parrish.

Roscoe because he could break one and take it to the house anytime. X is awesome, but he doesn't have "that."

Unfair to ask for the comp when the Sun's barely risen on X's career, and the Sun's long set on Roscoe's career (which included 8 years in the NFL).

That said, as of today it's Roscoe.

Rosco afterburner unmatched only Randall Hill was faster. 3.9 to 4.2 speed

X works the second level between LB and FS none better 4.4 all day though.

I would say its almost unfair to compare them. I think their roles were just different.

If Jeff Thomas worked out, he would have been the better comparison.
