For me, their inclusion is not essential. USF and FIU have both beaten us and Mario/Butch coached at FIU.

I do feel like UNC and GTech are above tier 3, but maybe below tier 2.
 
This thread is infected with recency bias. Nebraska and Penn St., maybe even Oklahoma and Alabama belong on this.

Maybe Nebraska with so many NCGs. Even with that's more than dead.

The rest are teams we had a game with that sucked.

OU was a team that we beat 3 times in the 80s. That's not a rivalry.


Certainly all of the teams you listed has history that, if fostered, could be the makings of a rivalry. That's it really.

Catholics vs. Convicts ALONE puts ND in Tier 1.

Everything else is fine as is.

We're 7-13 over the last 20 years vs FSU and 2-2 vs Florida. With FSU I hate them but they've been the ones who have come out with the win. The whole meaning of a Rival is to compete with someone to show superiority, we haven't. It's annoying and I can't stand listening to their fans.
