DAILY DEBATE: Which freshman plays the most snaps this year?

This is a vet team and going off last year actions from our coaches not rotating alot, there is not alot of opportunity at most positions.. I know based on snaps, WR DONT ROTATE, Guidry is ON RECORD and his actions show HE DOESNT rotate safeties, said it in interviews and it proved true..

So maybe a Lyle/Lofton unless Merritt like to keep his main guy in, we rotated backs last year but new coach.. Maybe susan replacement can ask..

Who are the five star guys from last class, politics usually play into that also..

In terms of pure snap count...

Our Freshman QB, EDGE, OL, CB have literally zero chance.

That leaves RB, WR, TE, DT, LB, S.

Of those position groups the most likely are Jordan Lyle, Jojo Trader, Ny Carr, Elija Lofton, Justin Scott, Cameron Pruitt, and Zaquon Patterson

I'd say Jordan Lyle has a VERY sneaky good chance of being one of the highest snap count freshman. Like if Fletcher Redshirts due to injury, Lyle WILL play a lot imo - probably at least 200 snaps if that's the situation. Lofton is going to play and likely have a solid impact especially for a freshman. But will he really play more than a WR given he's going to be TE3 to start with, and we are obviously going to run way more 3-4 WR sets than 3 TE sets. I'd say Trader/Carr have a good shot out snapping Lofton - as along with Lyle have the easiest path to PT of our freshman. The real question will be the 3 defensive freshman I have listed. Patterson has the easiest path to a **** load of PT. Justin Scott could play a lot due to talent, but is the most difficult just due to positional difficulty. Pruitt is tough because he'll definitely play a good amount, but A) We are likely going to run a lot of 2 LB formations, and have 3 upperclassman that are ahead of him on depth chart. I see Pruitt probably getting in the 100-150 range of snap count. Patterson has an easy path to surpassing that. As do the WRs and Lyle.

I'm going to go with Patterson, Lyle, or Trader. I'd lean Lyle though.

I’m going with Lofton. The reports about him have been similar to Bain’s early reports. They are excited about him and he is versatile so he has more chances to play early, particularly with the RB depth chart if Fletcher is out.

Lofton because he's so versatile but Lyle will also get a lot of touches. Hoping Patterson mostly gets garbage time so he has time to grow within this defense but have a feeling he'll be needed.

I don't like this no WR rotate thing, we need to get these boys stats so they don't transfer.

Playing fast and blowing the doors off the booty teams will help with getting snaps to the 2nd and 3rd team so hopefully we do that.

Dont forget that Mario like to play in his own words "diliberate" style football against lesser teams, slower pace which less snaps mean one mistake you in a dog fight.. GT game Halftime interview :snoopfacepalm:

Lyle is likely the betting favorite, but will finish 2nd or 3rd. He is the only one (mostly) guaranteed some snaps.
