On offense for us, their defense does not have an answer for Martinez & Arroyo.

On defense, Guidry vs Mertz/Napier. Making Mertz hold onto the ball a tad longer than he likes, making him move off his spot, delay blitzes.

Ball game.

our Front 7 vs their OL. To me it’s the entire game. If we control that line of scrimmage like I expect us to they will struggle to make big plays (if we tackle well which I have no reason to believe we won’t)

If they have to add a second TE to help block that right side every play then they are going to be in trouble IMO.

Snatch the soul! Establish the trenches. When a team knows their dline can't do nothing with you the rest of the team follows. Show them we physically superior and then open up the floodgates

This. We have the better lines on both sides, and the better QB. That usually equates to winning.

From the first snap, prove this ****. Let up nothing in the run game. Dominate the LOS from the opening whistle, keep their backs from getting going, and keep them behind the sticks. On passing downs, rip their souls out and get Mertz off-platform. Collapse the pocket, make him move his cement shoes, and bury him.

On offense, do not let them pressure Ward with four. Make them bring additional guys, which opens our our receivers and tight ends against their back 7. Run. The. Football. If we run for 150 yards, we win. Simple as that.

This game is all about the trenches. The gator had a pretty decent run blocking unit last year, and struggled in pass pro. Eat their lunch all night on that side. And on offnese, the gator was 116th in the country last year in yards per rush allowed. Move them off the football, create lanes for Martinez, and let him cook.

150+ rushing yards
Zero turnovers
Keep them under 100 rushing

We win going away.

The obvious answer is DE vs their OTs. Someone is going 1v1 and someone, probably their RT, is getting a lot of help from a TE.

Curious to see if we bring another blitzer on that side to get more 1v1 or if we do more of what we did last year bringing A gap pressure from Kiko.

Bain/Mesidor on the interior at 3T if we can get them in 3rd and long to play that package is a mismatch that no one on their side has acknowledged yet. George and Harris will be abused by those guys 1v1.

I think a big key for us offensively is attacking Jason Marshall deep. He gave up a ridiculously high 24.2 yards per reception a year ago... likely due to his lack of top end speed. I think Brown/George/Horton is going to be a tough ask for him. I'm testing it early and often. Shots down field, especially if you hit one, will force them to roll their coverage and keep someone high and open up the run game.

They also don't have a prototypical free safety. Lots of guys that aren't comfortable playing center field. Another reason Marshall struggled with that last year and not the year before. They lost Rashad Torrence at FS and they didn't address it in the portal last year or this year. Asa Turner made some interceptions but is a strong safety by trade. Castell is playing that spot. Good player but I don't think that's his strength. Bet they're still susceptible to the deep ball.
