DAILY DEBATE: How many first rounders does Miami have on its roster?

Mauigoa for sure. Beck with a good year.
Guys who "should be" on DL. Guys who "could be" at DB. At UM guy who could or should has largely been fools gold so let's just let it play out.

Let’s take a bet on this. Your argument is that no one on the roster outside of 1-2 Oline and possibly Justin Scott. That includes everyone on the current roster.

It doesn’t have to be a lot of money. $100 and I will take the field over the next 3 NFL drafts. As long as it is someone on the current roster, other than 1-2 Oline or Justin Scott, I win.
I have never seen most of the guys that expect to contribute this year play college football. No.

Francis is the only one.

At least one of the Dline needs turn into 1 with how highly rated they were in HS +money invested but that convo is 2 years away.

@cway313 probably takes the question as “current 1st tounders”

I am assuming you are taking it as “potential 1st rounders”

At the moment I agree with @cway313 that could definitely change (hopefully it does) but sure fire? Not many.

Potential? It looks like more than it is and less than many think

Of the players I've seen in extended roles Francis is it, but I wouldn't bet against players I've never seen.

As an attorney I am annoyingly specific. The original question was how many first rounders are on the roster. As such, that would include people who have never played a single down of college football.

So I placed the bet. Alway looking for an angle.

I wrote up to 4 being a homer, but 1 seems to be the vast majority.

Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that it's open to interpretation.

If you bet there are 5 1st rounders currently on the team but only 2 go in the 1st round you lose that bet. There may be 12 2nd rounders but that doesn't change the fact that historically, Miami has not done well at developing 1st rounders. I would argue they did with GR15 but Cam Ward, Phillips, and Cici stepped on campus as 1st rounders and proved it in their 1st Spring practice.

I hope nothing more than Mario to change that narrative but until he does it remains true.

Haven't seen most of the starters play here but
QB-0
RB-0
TE-0
WR-0
OL 1 maybe 2 if someone like Samson plays up to his ranking

DE-0 Not going to assume guys with 0 snaps are
DT-0 would be nice if Scott looks like a 5* this year
LB-0
CB- I'm going to be overly optimistic and say 1.
S-0
This is probably true

Mauigoa is the only 'sure fire' 1st rounder.

Everyone else has to prove it this year, which includes Beck and Bain.
this - Bain had a terrible year last year - don't hit me with the injury bs - if he is not performing this year we gotta bench him - cant be playing him cuz of what he did 2 years ago
