Remember the Jenning/Maxey tandem? Lights out. Also had KP and BM on the back end. DH pulled his weight. RP was the only disappointment from that year.

Damari Brown not on this list? Cap.

In all seriousness, Starks is my choice. Obviously not in this same category, but one guy I had massive hopes for before that extremely unfortunate injury was Malek Young. I thought he could have been special, obviously nowhere in conversation with a lot of these guys, but he was and has been one of our better CBs in the last decade or so imo.
Young Malek was one of my favorites.

I have always considered Antrel Rolle a Safety.

I was always a Buchanon fan. Impacted the return game, and was a Raider. Charles Woodson, Buchanon, and Nnamdi... if only we could have kept that trio for a while... or If we didn't have absolute *** for coaching and QB...

Objectively Duane Starks is probably the right answer though.

In terms of raw tools, he had everything you'd want for an ideal Field Corner.

Still can't believe his pro career didn't turn out much better than it has.

PBuch is the best cover-corner in UM History.....End of story. His 99, 2000 & 2001 seasons prove that. The 99 secondary didn't give up a TD the last 27 quarters of the season.
Agree wholeheartedly.

The problem for me is that his NFL career never lived up to what we expected from him. I still don’t really know why but I wasn’t a fan of the teams he played on so I never received any inside info. He just never seemed impactful as a pro.

Since this list is for what they did in college and NFL, I voted for Starks. McNeil a close 2nd. If list was only for what they did in college, probably go with Buchanon. Rolle was really good too. Had one of the most dominating games I've seen as a corner against FSU in 2004.
Another wayyyy underrated CB was Rodney Bellinger. His play vs Nebraska in the 84 OB was stellar. He brought down Rosier and Jeff Smith numerous times for huge loss of yards.
